ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN: THE FORSAKEN HOLLOWS launched in December 2025. It adds two playable Nightfarers, new bosses and Limveld content, and a Shifting Earth condition that changes the map. It is an expansion for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN—not for the 2022 ELDEN RING.
When did The Forsaken Hollows release?
Bandai Namco announced a December 4, 2025 release, and its European launch notice confirmed availability that day. Steam lists December 3, 2025, so the date differs by platform listing. The DLC has already launched. Bandai Namco Europe’s launch notice and Steam’s listing provide those dates.
What does the expansion add?
Two playable Nightfarers
- Scholar: an academic spellcaster who benefits from observing opponents and situations.
- Undertaker: a physically powerful fighter driven by faith and sent by her monastery to kill the Nightlord.
New threats and Limveld content
The expansion adds two new third-day bosses, new field bosses and threats, new points of interest in Limveld, and a Shifting Earth condition. That condition changes Limveld’s geographical layout. Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s launch announcement describes the additions.
Which platforms can you play it on?
Bandai Namco Europe’s release announcement lists PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Its launch-day notice also names Xbox One. What game does it require?
The Forsaken Hollows is DLC for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, which Bandai Namco describes as a standalone multiplayer co-op survival action game. It is not the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for the 2022 ELDEN RING. When checking whether you own the right base game, look for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN in your library or storefront.
