Elden Ring Nightreign added its two-player option, called Duo Expeditions, in patch 1.02 on July 30, 2025. Bandai Namco Europe announced the mode ahead of release; that date has passed, so it is no longer an upcoming feature.
What is Nightreign’s duo mode?
Duo Expeditions let two players take on Nightreign’s threats together. Bandai Namco Europe described the invitation as taking on Night’s terrors “as two kindred souls” and called the feature “Duo Expeditions” in its July 25, 2025 announcement. Official announcement

When did Duo Expeditions arrive?
The mode was announced for patch 1.02, scheduled for July 30, 2025. The announcement’s trailer title used “Two Player Mode,” while its description used “Duo Expeditions.”
How does the mode fit Nightreign’s original co-op setup?

What else did patch 1.02 include?
Bandai Namco’s announcement also listed quality-of-life UI improvements, including more options for filtering Relics. It did not specify how Duo Expeditions adjust enemy health, rewards, or difficulty compared with solo or three-player expeditions, so those balance details should not be assumed from the announcement alone.
