Everdark Sovereigns were announced as limited-time, online-only enhanced Nightlord encounters in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN. Bandai Namco said a new Sovereign would arrive each week when the feature launched in June 2025, but its later schedule used paired returns. The official information available through the March 31, 2026 news item does not establish whether rotations are running now.
What Everdark Sovereigns are
Bandai Namco introduced Everdark Sovereigns as more challenging versions of Nightlords, with increased power and new moves. The publisher described the encounters as limited-time events: when a Sovereign’s event window ended, it would no longer be available in Expeditions. These are publisher-announced mechanics, not a difficulty ranking or a guarantee that the events remain active today. Bandai Namco’s June 18, 2025 announcement

How the announced schedule changed
Launch: one new Sovereign per week
On June 18, 2025, Bandai Namco announced that the first Everdark Gaping Jaw—Adel, Baron of the Night—would be available June 19–26, 2025. The publisher said, “Every week, a new Everdark Sovereign will arrive in Limveld.” That describes the rollout announced at launch; it should not be read as confirmation of an uninterrupted weekly calendar. The original announcement gives the event’s end time in JST, CEST, and PDT.
July 2025: paired returns
Bandai Namco’s July 11, 2025 schedule grouped three early Sovereigns into overlapping weekly windows rather than announcing one new boss each week:

The same announcement named Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog as the next group, but said their timing would be announced later. It does not establish dates for that group. Bandai Namco’s July 11, 2025 return announcement
How to enter an Everdark Sovereign encounter
- Defeat the original Nightlord first. The June 2025 announcement said the corresponding original Nightlord had to be defeated before its Everdark Sovereign encounter could be challenged.
- Connect online. Everdark mode was online-only. Players in offline mode were instructed to connect to the game server.
- Choose an available Expedition during its event window. The encounter was temporary and would leave the available Expeditions when its announced window ended. Availability today is not confirmed by the schedules cited here. Bandai Namco’s June 18, 2025 announcement
What Sovereign Sigils were for
Defeating an Everdark Sovereign awarded Sovereign Sigils, which could be exchanged for special Relics and other items. Bandai Namco also said a player’s first victory against a Sovereign granted additional Sigils. The announcement did not give a quantity, so there is no supported fixed amount to cite. Are Everdark Sovereigns rotating now?
The current schedule is unresolved. The latest NIGHTREIGN item surfaced in Bandai Namco’s official news index was a March 31, 2026 hotfix; it addressed a multiplayer performance issue, not Sovereign availability. That update confirms a game patch, not that the rotation continued or ended. The historical schedules above are therefore not a reliable calendar for October 2026. Later patch notes provide game-balance context, not a current event timetable: the September 24, 2025 notes mention Maris during an Everdark Sovereign Augur Expedition in Deep of Night mode, while the January 15, 2026 notes cover broader Nightfarer and balance changes.
