Elden Ring Nightreign version 1.01.1, released June 2, 2025, added one automatic revival per Night Boss battle to solo expeditions and increased the runes earned on solo runs. The official notes do not quantify the rune increase, and the changes did not make every part of the game easier.
What changed for solo players in version 1.01.1?
Bandai Namco’s official version 1.01.1 patch notes list two adjustments specifically for solo expeditions:

The notes also say the update increased high-rarity Relic rewards for reaching Day 3 and the chance of obtaining high-rarity Relics from Scenic Flat stones purchased at the Small Jar Bazaar. Those are listed as general balance adjustments, not benefits exclusive to solo play.
Does this make Nightreign easy to play solo?
It makes solo runs more forgiving in two specific ways: the revival effect offers a survival cushion against a Night Boss, while additional runes improve rewards. The notes do not say that enemy health, boss damage, or expedition timers changed in version 1.01.1, so it would be inaccurate to describe this update as a broad reduction in difficulty.

Nightreign supports single-player and multiplayer, though its official game page emphasizes three-player cooperative play. The solo adjustments address a mode within a game designed around group expeditions.
When did the update arrive, and which platforms received it?
The patch notes are dated June 2, 2025, and list PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The update is identified as App Ver. 1.01.1 and Regulation Ver. 1.01.2. Bandai Namco says players need to apply the update to play online.

How does this fit into Nightreign’s later updates?
The phrase “next patch” is historical, not a description of an upcoming update. On July 31, 2025, version 1.02 added two-player expeditions, renamed the player-count setting “Number of Players,” and stated that game balance adjusts to the current number of players. That was a later player-count change, distinct from version 1.01.1’s solo-specific revival and rune adjustments. See the official version 1.02 patch notes.
Later update notices also exist. For example, an official Japanese PC notice dated July 2, 2026 lists App Ver. 1.03.3 and Regulation Ver. 1.03.5; Bandai Namco’s American page lists a March 31, 2026 hotfix 1.03.5 entry. These notices establish that updates followed version 1.01.1, but do not by themselves establish the newest version on October 8, 2026.
