- Shadow of the Erdtree access for anyone who wants to play expansion content. The mod author’s FAQ says a player without the DLC can play the base game with DLC owners, but that player cannot access the expansion content.
The author’s FAQ says a group can include up to six players total. The publisher reported more than 5 million DLC units sold worldwide within three days of release in 2024; that is a launch-period figure, not a current sales total.

Install or update the mod
- Install Elden Ring through Steam. Each player needs their own copy, as described in the author’s installation guide.
- Download the current Seamless Co-op files from the mod’s Nexus Mods page. Before installing, compare the current file and changelog with the game version shown in your Steam installation; an older mod file may not match a newer game update.
- Follow the author’s installation steps and launch on Windows with
ersc_launcher.exe. Nexus Mod Manager is not required. - On Linux, add

Start and end a co-op session

How the mod affects saves and progression

Using Seamless Co-op with other mods
The mod author says compatibility with other mods has not been tested, so arbitrary combinations are not guaranteed to work. The author-maintained modding guide describes a narrower setup: players need the same compatible mods and must use the supported launch path, ersc_launcher.exe or ModEngine2. If you cannot establish that every player has the same compatible configuration, do not assume the combination will connect reliably.
