There are two listed locations for each iris in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Iris of Grace is in Shadow Keep’s Storehouse and at a church behind Tree-Worship Sanctum; Iris of Occultation is at Fort of Reprimand and in the drained Church District. The choice of iris also determines whether Queelign or Jolán rewards you with spirit ashes or a weapon.
Where to find Iris of Grace
- Shadow Keep: From Storehouse, First Floor, take the elevator down to the room with Jar Innards. Search the room for the iris. Source: Fextralife’s item reference.

Where to find Iris of Occultation
- Fort of Reprimand: Enter the fort and turn left. Find the hole in the floor and drop down; the iris is nearby, in an area with enemies. Source: Fextralife’s item reference.
- Church District: Drain the water to access the lower section, then defeat the northern Ulcerated Tree Spirit to receive the iris. Source: Fextralife’s item reference.

What each iris gives Queelign or Jolán
Each NPC has two possible rewards, determined by which iris you give them:

These are alternative rewards for each character. Jolán’s Grace ashes can later be combined with Swordhand of Night Anna’s ashes to summon both together; the ashes can also be unmerged. The item references describe the choices but do not establish one universally better reward: choose based on whether you want a summon or a weapon and what suits your build. Using an iris for a Great Rune blessing instead
If you do not use an iris for an NPC reward, either type can grant the blessing of an equipped Great Rune once. The cost differs:
- Iris of Grace: Grants the blessing without taking your held runes.
- Iris of Occultation: Consumes all runes you are carrying when used for the blessing.
Because Occultation takes all held runes, spend or safely store them before choosing that use if you want to avoid losing them. The item references state the costs for this alternate use but do not tie them to a specific game patch. Iris of Grace item reference; Iris of Occultation item reference.

- Want Queelign’s summon? Give him Iris of Grace. Want his Greatsword? Give him Iris of Occultation.
- Want Jolán’s summon? Give her Iris of Grace. Want the Sword of Night? Give her Iris of Occultation.
- Prefer the Great Rune blessing? Keep an iris for that use, bearing in mind that Occultation consumes all your held runes and Grace does not.
