This is a Remembrance boss tier list, not a ranking of every boss or tough enemy in the expansion. Boss counts depend on what a guide includes: PC Gamer’s 2024 inventory counts 55 bosses under a broader rule that includes returning boss types and some tough enemies that drop unique items, while this list uses the narrower set of ten Remembrance fights. Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion for Elden Ring; Bandai Namco says the base game is required. The publisher also lists a Shadow of the Erdtree Edition that bundles the base game and expansion. Check the listing for your platform and region to distinguish the expansion from the bundle: Bandai Namco’s official expansion page.
How to read the tiers
The tiers describe overall encounter quality, not a precise measure of difficulty. A fight can be hard and still rank highly if its attacks are readable, the challenge feels fair, and its spectacle and payoff make the struggle satisfying. Conversely, raw difficulty by itself does not earn a top placement. These are editorial criteria, not objective measurements.

- B tier: Enjoyable or memorable in places, but less consistent in execution or payoff.
- C tier: A comparatively weaker encounter whose frustrations or shortcomings outweigh its highlights.

Rather than inventing a personal ranking, use this framework to judge the Remembrance encounters you have fought—or consult a clearly attributed, experience-based list when you want placements.

The expansion’s bosses can be encountered in any order, and the guide recommends collecting Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ash Blessings. Those progression upgrades can materially change how difficult an encounter feels. Keep patch context in mind
Launch-era impressions are not guaranteed to describe current behavior. Bandai Namco’s July 4, 2024 update notice covers DLC balance changes and bug fixes, including changed rematch placement for the Golden Hippopotamus and Commander Gaius: official update notice. That notice establishes an update, but not whether later patches further changed boss behavior or what the latest game version is.
Where to find a broader boss list
If you want field bosses, dungeon encounters, mausoleum fights, returning boss types, or tough enemies that drop unique items, a Remembrance ranking is not the right scope. Use a guide that states how it counts those encounters; PC Gamer’s guide is one example, with its own stated 55-boss inventory.
