At the entrance, Gostoc offers an opening in the wall that avoids the more exposed frontal gate. Optional branches—including the rooftops, a Stonesword Key door, Gateside Chamber, and Castle Sewer—are not required to reach the boss.
How to navigate Stormveil Castle
Use Sites of Grace as route anchors rather than expecting a room-by-room map path. Guidance of Grace points generally toward important destinations; it is directional, not a detailed route. It appears on the map after you find the region’s map fragment. You can add map markers and see them on the compass, and discovered Sites of Grace are recorded on the map. Bandai Namco’s starter guide also notes that fast travel is unavailable in some dungeons.
Main route to Godrick
Stormveil Main Gate to Stormveil Cliffside
The main gate begins closed. Speak with Gostoc near the opening in the wall: he offers the side entrance, which is the recommended way in if you want to avoid the frontal approach. The gate faces a dense group of enemies and crossbow turrets, making that route more exposed. The side path leads along the cliff; watch for hawks and Exiles as you make your way into the castle.
Stormveil Cliffside to Rampart Tower
Continue along the cliff-side route and climb through the castle’s upper sections until you reach the Rampart Tower Site of Grace. The route is vertical, so keep an eye out for threats on ledges and rooftops as well as along the main passage.

Rampart Tower to Liftside Chamber
From Rampart Tower, continue through the church and upper castle toward Liftside Chamber. Rogier can be found in the church area. An elevator becomes a shortcut once activated; use it to simplify later movement through this part of the castle.
Liftside Chamber to Secluded Cell
Leave Liftside Chamber through the courtyard and press onward into the upper castle. Secluded Cell is the last checkpoint before Godrick’s arena. Nepheli’s summon sign is available before the fight if you have met the conditions for her encounter.
Godrick and the route onward
Godrick the Grafted is the endpoint of the main castle route. The walkthrough lists Godrick’s Great Rune and the Remembrance of the Grafted among the rewards. Beyond the boss area, the route leads out toward Liurnia.
Entrance choice: side opening or frontal gate?

Optional Stormveil areas
Several branches offer exploration and pickups without forming part of the required route to Godrick. The detailed route guide separates these from the main progression:
- Castle Rooftops: an optional exploration branch through the castle’s upper exterior.
- Stonesword Key doors: optional locked areas, including a second Stonesword Key gate.
- Gateside Chamber: a side area rather than a required checkpoint on the route to the boss.
- Castle Sewer: an optional lower branch for further exploration.
For a quicker run to the boss, stay with the named Grace-to-Grace route. Take these branches when you want to explore or collect additional items; they are not necessary to reach Secluded Cell.
