Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf Emissary Zero is lagging in multiplayer, first check whether you mean network delay or local stuttering. For repeated frame drops, the developer suggested testing a 60 FPS cap in a specific 2025 stutter discussion. For delayed actions, rubber-banding or disconnects, use connection checks instead. Neither path is a confirmed universal fix.
First, identify what “lag” looks like
Emissary Zero is a PC game with online co-op. The word “lag” can describe different problems, and the useful fix depends on the symptom.
- Likely connection trouble: actions register late, characters rubber-band or teleport, or players disconnect. These symptoms do not identify whether the cause is your PC’s connection, Wi-Fi, home network, ISP, platform or game service.
- Likely local stutter: the picture hitches or FPS drops repeatedly, especially during movement or camera motion. A frame-rate cap or graphics-setting test is more relevant than changing network hardware.
If you are unsure, watch whether FPS visibly falls during the hitch and ask whether other online apps or people on the same network are also affected. This helps sort the symptom; it is not a confirmed game-specific test.
For recurring stutter or FPS drops, test a 60 FPS cap
In a Steam Community discussion posted March 28, 2025, a player described stuttering every two seconds. Developer Rone Vine replied the next day: “Try limiting fps to 60. I had the same problem on my PC – with fps limited to 120 or more, every 0.5 – 2 seconds there is a drop to 20. I am currently solving this problem.”

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
That is a dated suggestion for a particular high-frame-rate stutter pattern while the developer was investigating it—not a guarantee, a present-day universal fix, or a remedy for network latency. If your symptom is similar, try limiting the game to 60 FPS using the frame-rate limit available in your game or graphics settings, then see whether the repeated drops change. If the issue is delayed actions or rubber-banding without visible frame drops, this test is unlikely to address the connection symptom.
Another player in the same discussion reported that global illumination above medium worsened frame times. Treat that as an individual report, not an official finding: lowering the setting can be a reversible test if you suspect local performance stutter, but it is not established as a multiplayer-lag fix.

For delayed actions, rubber-banding or disconnects, check the connection
The following are general connection checks from SEGA’s connection and latency guidance, not instructions specific to Emissary Zero. Try them one at a time so you can tell whether anything changes.
- Check service status and updates. Check the relevant platform or service status, then install available game-client and game updates.
- Restart your modem and router. Unplug them, wait five minutes, reconnect power and wait for the lights to return to normal.
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet. If possible, try an Ethernet cable for a wired connection test. Improvement suggests the wireless segment may contribute, but does not prove the game or ISP is fault-free. A cable will not resolve server-side trouble or local graphics stutter.
- Temporarily test without a VPN or proxy. Turn it off and restart the game client to see whether the connection changes.
- Check security software rules. Confirm that antivirus or firewall rules are not blocking the game or its client. Prefer allowing the relevant application over broadly disabling protection. On a restricted school or workplace network, ask the administrator for help.
These checks are possible ways to isolate a connection issue; they do not establish that any one condition causes Emissary Zero lag. The available guidance does not support router port-forwarding changes or buying a VPN as fixes.

What the current update information does—and does not—say
Steam’s Emissary Zero store page lists online co-op for up to four players and shows a July 28, 2026 last update. The surfaced latest update note says Patch 1.3.3 fixed spectator functionality for clients; it does not say multiplayer lag was fixed. The available information therefore does not confirm a current game-wide fix for multiplayer lag.
A May 11, 2025 Steam announcement identifies Patch 1.0.24 as a multiplayer update. Comments on that announcement include historical reports about lobby joins, kicks and crashes, plus a developer suggestion to use beta branch 1.0.23 in response to a DX11/DX12 crash report. Those are dated comments, not confirmation of current faults or current lag instructions; do not switch branches for lag based on that crash discussion.

When to contact the developer
If the problem persists, note when it happens, whether all players in the session are affected, your connection type and any error message. Steam lists Rone Vine as the developer and gives [email protected] as the official support email. Include those details so support can distinguish a connection symptom from a local frame-rate problem.
Steam lists minimum flat-screen requirements of Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, 6 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti, DirectX 11 and 5 GB storage. Its recommended flat-screen specifications are Windows 11 64-bit, Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1070 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8 GB, DirectX 12 and 5 GB storage. Steam notes that VR needs higher specifications. These are published requirements, not proof that a PC meeting them cannot stutter.
