Reports of a full The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom art book appearing online surfaced on February 19 and 20, 2023, about three months before the game’s May 12 launch. The coverage described an approximately 200-page book containing character and story material, but the reported pages were not authenticated by Nintendo in the sources available here.

What was reported about the Tears of the Kingdom artbook leak?

Insider Gaming reported on February 19, 2023, that an art book of approximately 200 pages had leaked online. The outlet said the material included characters and story details and noted it had contacted Nintendo for comment. Insider Gaming’s February 19 report did not establish Nintendo’s authentication of the file.

On February 20, GameReactor separately reported that the book had appeared online in its entirety, describing it as covering characters, story, and the game’s world. GameReactor’s report likewise provides media coverage, not confirmation from Nintendo. The exact contents of individual pages are not independently established here.

When did the reports appear, and how far ahead of release?

The two reports appeared on February 19 and February 20, 2023. Both gave May 12, 2023, as the game’s release date, putting the reported leak roughly three months ahead of launch. These dates are relayed by the contemporaneous outlets rather than cited here from a Nintendo release page.

Could the material spoil the game?

Contemporary coverage warned that the book’s character and story material could reveal spoilers. Insider Gaming advised readers who wanted to avoid them to mute relevant terms on social media. That was the outlet’s practical suggestion, not an official Nintendo recommendation. The reports do not establish which specific plot details or pages were circulating, so it is best not to treat unverified page descriptions as confirmed.

Where can readers find an official art book?

A later official art book, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: Master Works, was reviewed by Nintendo Life; its 2024 archive lists that review. Nintendo Life’s archive entry is a reference to the book, not a current retailer listing. It does not establish which language or edition is available now, whether it is in stock, or what it costs.
