The stated aim was to continue making games, particularly cross-platform multiplayer titles. TechCrunch quoted CEO Yang C. Liu describing a willingness to make “many tries” and experiment quickly, with games designed to scale from small beginnings. He also said, “We pride ourselves on rapid experimentation,” and summed up the team’s approach: “We’re just building games. And to be honest, we don’t know what we’re doing.”
Investor comments offered support, rather than independent proof of the studio’s prospects. Jaakko Harlas, Supercell’s Developer Relations Lead, praised the team’s pace and accessible games in a statement reported by TechCrunch. Makers Fund founding partner Jay Chi told GamesBeat that the team had an intuitive sense of the industry’s shifting player preferences.

What audience figures did reports give?
The 2020 coverage reported different measures with different scopes. They are company- or game-reported figures, not audited measurements, and the reports do not explain counting methods.
- TechCrunch reported End Game’s claim of more than 160 million players across its titles, and a separate claim of one million people playing in a single day.
- GamesBeat reported more than 160 million unique players across the company’s releases since 2017.
- PocketGamer.biz reported 45 million players for ZombsRoyale.io specifically.
These figures are not directly comparable: one concerns the portfolio, another specifies unique players since 2017, one is a single-day measure, and one concerns a particular game. They should not be added together.
