ep0lvr1i.dll is an Epson printer-driver file, not a normal Windows component. If Windows reports that ep0lvr1i.dll is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, repair the Epson printer software that installed it instead of downloading an isolated DLL.

The safest fix: reinstall the exact Epson printer driver
The most likely cause is an incomplete, damaged, removed, or outdated Epson installation. This commonly happens after uninstalling printer software, cleaning a disk, updating a driver, changing Windows versions, or removing a file during a security scan.

- Connect or add the printer only when the installer requests it.
- Print a test page.
The repair worked if the Epson setup completes, the printer appears under Printers & scanners, and the application that previously displayed the error opens or prints normally.
If the installer cannot find the printer, remove the old printer entry first:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the Epson printer.
- Select Remove.
- Restart the computer.
- Install the current Epson driver.
- Add the printer again.
Do not substitute a driver for a similar Epson model. Printer packages can contain model-specific files and dependencies.
When hunting through multiple driver versions is the problem, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers and show what needs attention; its free scan identifies issues, while driver installation is handled by the full version. For this Epson-specific error, however, the exact model package from Epson remains the preferred repair.
If Windows can reinstall the printer driver
Windows Update or Device Manager may restore a compatible printer driver, particularly when the printer is still supported.
Try Windows Update
- Open Settings.
- Select Windows Update.
- Select Check for updates.
- Install available updates.
- Open Advanced options.
- Select Optional updates.
- Expand Driver updates, if available.
- Install an Epson or printer-related update.
- Restart Windows.
After restarting, test the printer and the application that showed the error.
Reinstall through Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, or Universal Serial Bus controllers, depending on how the printer is connected.
- Right-click the Epson device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- If Windows offers to remove the driver package, select that option only if you intend to reinstall it.
- Restart Windows.
- Return to Device Manager and select Action > Scan for hardware changes, or run the Epson installer.
Device Manager may install a basic Windows-compatible driver rather than Epson’s full utility package. That can restore printing but may not restore scanning, maintenance, status monitoring, or other Epson features.

A rollback is useful when the problem began immediately after a driver update.
Understand the error message
Several messages can refer to the same underlying problem:
- “The program can’t start because ep0lvr1i.dll is missing from your computer.”
- “The code execution cannot proceed because ep0lvr1i.dll was not found.”
- “Error loading ep0lvr1i.dll.”
- “There was a problem starting ep0lvr1i.dll.”
- “The specified module could not be found.”
- “ep0lvr1i.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
“Specified module could not be found” does not always mean that the named DLL itself is absent. Windows may have found ep0lvr1i.dll but failed to load a dependency that the Epson driver needs. An incompatible architecture, damaged driver package, missing supporting file, or incorrect path can produce the same message.
That is why copying a DLL into a system folder often fails. It replaces one file without repairing the package that loads it.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchWhy a 32-bit DLL can be on 64-bit Windows
Public records generally identify ep0lvr1i.dll as a 32-bit file. That is not automatically suspicious.
64-bit Windows can run many 32-bit applications and printer utilities through its compatibility subsystem. A 32-bit Epson utility may therefore need a 32-bit Epson DLL even when the operating system itself is 64-bit.
Do not copy a 32-bit file into C:WindowsSystem32 merely because an online instruction recommends it. On 64-bit Windows, System32 is primarily the 64-bit system directory. Epson’s installer and Windows determine the appropriate location, which may be inside an application directory or a DriverStore package.

A reported association with an older package named prnep00l.inf and a path resembling the following has been documented:
C:WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepository
prnep00l.inf_amd64_neutral_f1fa021d2221e2c7Amd64
That path is reported evidence from older driver inventories, not a guaranteed location for every Windows release or printer model.
Check antivirus quarantine before restoring anything
If the error appeared immediately after an antivirus scan, the file may have been quarantined.
- Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- Open any entry that names
ep0lvr1i.dllor an Epson driver. - Check the detected file path and the detection details.
Do not restore the file solely because its filename looks familiar. A genuine filename can be copied by malware.
Restore or allow a file only when its location, Epson installation source, digital signature, and security result are trustworthy. In most cases, reinstalling the signed Epson package is safer than restoring one isolated DLL from quarantine.
Recommended Free Tools
If the file is already present, right-click it and open Properties. Check the Digital Signatures tab when available. A missing signature does not prove malware, especially for an old driver component, but an unexpected path or a security detection deserves caution. Run a full Windows Security scan before replacing or restoring the file.
Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
DISM and System File Checker repair Windows components and protected Windows files. They do not guarantee restoration of a third-party Epson DLL, especially when that DLL is not part of the Windows component store.
Run them when Windows itself appears damaged or when several unrelated system components are failing.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for DISM to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until the verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Test the Epson software again.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. If SFC reports that it repaired files, restart and test. If it reports that it could not repair some files, reinstall the Epson driver anyway because SFC may not own ep0lvr1i.dll.

It is optional and does not replace the Epson installer for an Epson-owned DLL.
Do not register this DLL with regsvr32 routinely
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. A printer-driver support DLL is not automatically a self-registering component.
Running this command is generally not the repair:
regsvr32 ep0lvr1i.dll
If it reports that DllRegisterServer is missing, that indicates the file is not meant to be registered that way. It does not mean you found a second missing DLL.
Use the Epson installer to place and configure the driver files. Only use regsvr32 when Epson’s documented instructions specifically require it for a particular component.
If the error appears when Windows starts
An old Epson utility may still launch at startup even though you no longer use the printer.

- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
- Select Startup apps.
- Look for Epson utilities or printer-monitoring programs.
- Select an obsolete Epson entry.
- Select Disable.
- Restart Windows.
Also check Settings > Apps > Installed apps and remove Epson software that is no longer needed. If the error continues, inspect Task Scheduler for an Epson task and disable it only when you are certain it belongs to obsolete software.
If you still use the printer, do not remove every Epson component blindly. Reinstall the correct package instead.
If the Epson printer is no longer supported
Older printers may have drivers designed for earlier Windows releases. Current Windows versions may not offer the original package, and a legacy 32-bit driver may not work with a newer application or operating-system configuration.
Try these steps in order:
- Check Epson’s support page for the exact model.
- Install the newest driver listed for your Windows version.
- Run Windows Update and check Optional updates.
- Remove the old printer from Printers & scanners.
- Restart Windows.
- Allow Windows to add a basic printer driver if one is offered.
- Test basic printing.
A built-in Windows driver may restore printing without Epson’s full maintenance features. If no compatible driver is available and the printer is essential, replacing the unsupported device may be more reliable than forcing an old package into a current installation.
If the failure began after a recent driver or software change, use System Restore:
- Open Start and search for
Create a restore point. - Open it.
- Select System Restore.
- Choose a restore point from before the problem began.
- Follow the prompts and restart.
What not to do
- Do not download
ep0lvr1i.dllfrom a random DLL website. - Do not copy a downloaded DLL into
System32or another system folder. - Do not mix files from different Epson printer models.
- Do not assume a 32-bit DLL is wrong because Windows is 64-bit.
- Do not restore a quarantined file without checking its path and signature.
- Do not run
regsvr32on every DLL that produces an error. - Do not install Visual C++ Redistributable, DirectX, or .NET as the normal fix for this Epson-specific file.
- Do not use a driver updater as a substitute for identifying the exact Epson model.
An isolated download can have the wrong version, architecture, dependencies, or malicious modifications. Even a clean copy may leave the Epson driver package incomplete.
FAQ
Is ep0lvr1i.dll a Windows system file?
No reliable evidence identifies it as a core Windows, Microsoft runtime, DirectX, or .NET file. It is associated with EPSON Printer Driver software.
Which Epson printer installed it?
There is no reliable public evidence tying the file to one universal Epson printer model. Epson distributes drivers by product model, so identify the printer currently or previously connected to the computer.
Is ep0lvr1i.dll 32-bit or 64-bit?
The most consistent public records describe it as 32-bit, but records disagree. Let the Epson installer place the correct copy rather than choosing a location manually.
Why does it exist on 64-bit Windows?
64-bit Windows supports many 32-bit applications and printer utilities. A 32-bit Epson component can therefore be legitimate on a 64-bit computer.
What if the file exists but Windows still says it is missing?
The message may indicate a missing dependency, incompatible architecture, damaged package, or invalid path. Reinstall the complete Epson driver instead of replacing only the named file.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhat if I no longer use an Epson printer?
Remove obsolete Epson software from Settings > Apps > Installed apps, disable its startup entry, and check Task Scheduler for leftover Epson tasks. Restart afterward.
Will DISM and SFC restore the file?
They may repair Windows corruption, but they are not guaranteed to restore a third-party Epson driver DLL. The Epson model-specific installer is the definitive repair for this file.
