This is not normally a standalone application file. An Epson printer driver may stage it in the Windows Driver Store, commonly below a path resembling:

The exact folder name depends on Windows and the driver build. Do not edit or replace files directly inside DriverStoreFileRepository.
The Epson association is supported by public driver inventories, although Epson’s support pages do not identify this DLL as a separate download. Use Epson’s official support site, select the exact printer model, and download the complete printer driver or supported Epson Universal Print Driver package.

The most likely causes are:
- An Epson driver installation stopped or extracted incompletely.
- The Epson printer was removed and later reinstalled with a damaged package.
- Windows Update changed or disrupted an older printer driver.
- Antivirus software quarantined or deleted the file.
- A user profile or disk-cleanup operation removed part of the driver.
- The Windows Driver Store or print subsystem is corrupted.
- The installed package does not match the printer or Windows architecture.
- Another application is incorrectly trying to load an Epson driver component.
- The DLL is genuinely malicious because it was found outside a normal Epson driver location.
The phrase “specified module could not be found” does not always mean that EP0NXFS3.DLL itself is absent. It can also mean that a dependency required by the DLL is missing.
Fix 1: Reinstall the exact Epson printer driver
This is the primary repair and the most likely to restore the missing component.
1. Identify the printer model
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Select Bluetooth & devices in Windows 11, or Devices in Windows 10.

2. Remove the damaged printer

- In Printers & scanners, select the Epson printer.
- Choose Remove or Remove device.
- Confirm the removal.
- Restart Windows.

3. Download the complete package
Open Epson Support in your browser and search for the exact printer model. Choose the package for your Windows release and architecture. Prefer the current model-specific printer driver; use Epson Universal Print Driver only when it supports the printer and is the appropriate package.
Avoid choosing a download solely because its page mentions EP0NXFS3.DLL, a file size, or “x64.” The known records for this DLL are x86, but the correct choice is the complete driver package intended for the printer and operating system.
4. Install it cleanly
- Close print-related applications.
- Right-click the Epson installer and select Run as administrator.
- Follow the Epson setup wizard.
- Connect or select the printer when the installer requests it.
- Restart Windows after installation, even if the installer does not require it.
- Return to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select the Epson printer and choose Print a test page.

Fix 2: Check whether antivirus quarantined the file
A security product may remove a legitimate driver file, but a file with this name in an unusual location may also be unrelated or malicious.

- Expand any detection associated with the Epson installer or printer driver.

- The file was installed as part of the Epson driver.
- Its location is a normal Epson driver directory or Driver Store path.
- The detection is verified as a false positive.
- A current security scan does not find additional threats.
If the file is in a temporary folder, Downloads, a browser cache, a user-profile application-data folder, or an unfamiliar program directory, leave it quarantined and run a full scan. The safer approach is to remove the questionable copy and reinstall the Epson package from Epson Support.
A legitimate file name alone is not proof of authenticity. Check its path, digital signature when available, and the installer that placed it there.

Fix 3: Check the printer driver through Device Manager
Device Manager can reveal a failed or partially installed printer component, but it does not replace the vendor’s complete package.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, and, if present, Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Look for the Epson printer or a device with a yellow warning icon.
- Right-click the affected device and select Properties.
- Read the message under Device status.
- Open the Driver tab and record the provider and version.
- Select Update driver and choose Search automatically for drivers.
If Windows reports that the best driver is already installed but the DLL error remains, use the clean Epson reinstall in Fix 1. Do not use Browse my computer to point at a randomly downloaded DLL. Drivers are installed through their package and INF instructions, not by selecting individual DLL files.
If the printer remains broken after removal, restart the Print Spooler:
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
services.mscand press Enter. - Find Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
- Try the Epson installation again.
Fix 4: Repair Windows components with DISM and SFC
SFC and DISM are secondary repairs here. EP0NXFS3.DLL is normally a third-party Epson driver file, so SFC will not usually recreate it. These commands are appropriate when other Windows components are also failing or when the component store may be damaged.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the command to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Reinstall the Epson driver again.
DISM repairs the Windows component store, while SFC checks protected Windows system files. If both commands complete successfully but the Epson error remains, return to the Epson package rather than repeating SFC indefinitely.

Fix 5: Confirm the architecture
The known EP0NXFS3.DLL records are 32-bit/x86. A 32-bit printer driver can operate on 64-bit Windows through WOW64, but a 64-bit application cannot load a 32-bit DLL into its own process.

- Select System > About.
- Read System type.

If reinstalling fails repeatedly, inspect installed driver packages rather than modifying the Driver Store by hand.
- Open Command Prompt as administrator.
- Run:
pnputil /enum-drivers /files
- Review the output for Epson entries and the related
prnepcl2.infpackage. - Record the associated published name, such as
oem##.inf.
Do not delete a package merely because it contains EP0NXFS3.DLL. If you have confirmed that the package is obsolete and removal is necessary, create a restore point first and use the documented form:
pnputil /delete-driver oem##.inf /uninstall
Replace oem##.inf with the correct published name. Removing the wrong package can disable a printer or destabilize other devices. Restart Windows and install the correct Epson package afterward.

Do not use regsvr32 for this DLL
Do not run:
regsvr32 ep0nxfs3.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer, typically ActiveX or COM components. There is no evidence that EP0NXFS3.DLL is such a component. A printer-driver DLL should be installed through its Epson driver package and INF installer.

Is downloading ep0nxfs3.dll safe
Random DLL download sites are risky because the file may contain malware, be the wrong version, use the wrong architecture, or omit dependencies. If an unrelated game or application requests this Epson DLL, do not place it in that program’s folder. Investigate why that application is loading a printer-driver component, repair the application’s own installation, and scan the reported file path for malware.
