Then check Windows high-DPI settings if applicable. These are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes; the right next step depends on your operating system and what the Launcher is displaying.
Try the quick, targeted fixes first
Update the Launcher
Epic lists checking for a Launcher update as an initial step for display problems. If the interface is usable enough to reach its update controls, install any available update and reopen the Launcher.

Clear the Launcher web cache
Epic says clearing the cache can resolve display issues or errors that prevent the Launcher or games from working correctly. Exit the Launcher completely before removing cache files: use its system-tray icon to quit, rather than simply closing its window. Cache files are rebuilt when the Launcher starts again, but clearing them is not guaranteed to resolve every blank screen. See Epic’s cache instructions.
- Windows: Open
%localappdata%, then openEpicGamesLauncherSaved. Delete thewebcache,webcache_4147, andwebcache_4430folders if they are present. Epic notes that only one or two of these folders may exist. - macOS: In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder, enter
~/Library/Caches/com.epicgames.EpicGamesLauncher, and remove thewebcachefolder.
After deleting the cache, launch Epic Games Launcher again and see whether the display returns.

Check Windows display scaling if the Launcher is still blank
Adjust high-DPI scaling
Epic’s blank-display guidance includes a Windows compatibility setting. Right-click the Epic Games Launcher shortcut and select Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings. Check Override high DPI scaling behavior and leave the dropdown set to Application. Apply the change, then reopen the Launcher. Use 100% scale only for the mobile-interface symptom
If the Launcher is showing its mobile interface on a Windows PC, Epic separately recommends opening Windows Settings > System > Display, setting Scale under Scale and layout to 100%, and restarting the Launcher. This is a targeted instruction for the mobile-interface layout, not a universal remedy for every black screen.

Rule out connection and clock issues
Epic also suggests checking DNS settings, trying another internet connection such as a mobile hotspot, and confirming that the device’s date and time are synchronized. Treat these as diagnostic checks: they may help identify a connectivity or time-sync problem, but Epic does not establish them as universal causes of a blank display.
If the display problem continues
Move on to broader Launcher troubleshooting rather than immediately reinstalling. Check Epic’s live service status, confirm the Launcher is up to date, compare your device with its system requirements, and consider whether graphics drivers or background applications could be interfering. Reinstallation is a later option, not the first one to try: Epic warns that its reinstall process can remove installed titles. Review Epic’s instructions and account for installed games before proceeding. If the issue remains, contact Epic Games Support with your operating system and the steps you have already tried.
