The official Solisium’s Awakening release page calls Path of the Stars “a beginner’s guide system that recommends helpful ways to build your character.” Its cards can suggest stat distribution, active and passive skills, skill specializations, weapon mastery modes, and a Guardian based on your equipped weapon combination.

- Review the offered cards. Use the suggested build elements as guidance while leveling, not as proof that every recommendation is mandatory.
- Check whether each choice can apply. A mastery mode or specialization may not take effect if you lack the required points. An active skill may not auto-equip if your active-skill bar is full, and an unavailable Guardian will not be registered.
- Return to unselected cards or reselect when needed. The release page says unselected cards can be reviewed later and describes a reselection menu, so you can treat the system as revisable rather than a one-time commitment.
What the Longbow’s current passive does
Update 4.0.0 describes the Longbow passive Begin the Hunt: attacking enemies with Deadly Marker, Barrage Arrow, or Flash Arrow gives party members within 16 meters a base-damage increase for 3 seconds. The official notes say the effect also applies when playing solo. Update 4.0.0 notes
This is a useful example of a Longbow contribution that can benefit nearby allies as well as the player. It is not, by itself, a complete skill rotation or evidence for a particular weapon pairing: the update note specifies the passive’s trigger and effect, not a universal beginner sequence.

How weapon mastery and skill progression affect the build
Weapon Mastery experience can be allocated to weapons of your choice. The official Wilds of Talandre release page defines integrated mastery level as the sum of your weapon mastery levels. In practical terms, progression choices are part of building both weapons, so allow for investment in your chosen second weapon rather than viewing it as a free add-on.
Caps are version-dependent. Update 4.0.0 raised the overall weapon mastery cap from 1,800 to 2,200, the per-weapon cap from 200 to 220, and the maximum skill level from Epic 5 to Heroic 5. How to keep a beginner setup current
Build advice can age as skills and mastery systems change. For example, Update 2.16.0 records earlier adjustments to Flash Arrow’s area, cooldown, and damage, as well as to the Rhythmical Shooting mastery effect.
