Epic confirmed that Dark and Darker was delisted in 2025 and that players can no longer update it through the Epic Games Store. A separate, June 2025 community post reproduces an email attributed to Epic saying the game would be removed from player libraries on November 1, 2025, ending play through the store. Epic’s support page does not confirm that specific date, so the library-removal timeline should be treated as reported rather than independently verified by the official page.
What Epic confirmed—and what was reported
Epic’s Dark and Darker support page says the game was delisted in 2025 and can no longer be updated through Epic. It directs players who need further help to IRONMACE.
The more specific library-removal details come from a June 17, 2025 Reddit post that reproduces an email attributed to the Epic Games Store team. The post says Epic removed the game from sale on March 5, 2025, and planned to remove it from libraries on November 1, 2025, ending play through Epic. Because the original email was not available on an official Epic page, those dates and the related refund terms are secondhand reporting, not details confirmed by Epic’s retrieved support page.
Delisting is not the same as removing a game from a library
Delisting means a game is no longer available to buy. Epic’s general delisted-games guidance says a game already owned or claimed remains in the player’s library. It also warns that discontinued online services can make a game unplayable even if it remains listed there.

- Optimized Thermals – Stay cool with a quad-fan system, while dust filters and efficient airflow ensure long-term reliability.
- Advanced Connectivity – Game without lag with 2.5Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and versatile ports. Dolby Atmos audio and AI noise cancellation enhance sound and communication.
- Ready for Upgrades – Designed with tool-less access, easily swap out components, ensuring future-proof performance for years to come.
The reported plan for Dark and Darker goes further than that general delisting rule: it describes removing the game from existing libraries. That is a reported title-specific exception, not a change to assume for every delisted Epic game. The separate official notice that updates are no longer available is confirmed; it does not, by itself, establish whether a particular account currently retains access.
Does a past free claim guarantee access?
No such guarantee is established by the available official guidance. Epic says free promotions run for a limited time and a game must be claimed during its stated period to be added to a library. That explains how to claim a promotion, but it does not address whether a past claim survives a later title-specific removal.

The retrieved sources do not establish the exact dates, scope, or eligibility terms for the Dark and Darker giveaway. A claim made during a promotion and continued access after a later delisting or library removal are separate questions.
What the reported email said about refunds
The reproduced email says buyers of the Legendary Status upgrade would receive a refund and that Redstone Shards would not be refunded. Epic’s game-specific support page does not confirm either detail. Treat them as terms reported in the reproduced message, not as independently verified refund policy.

What affected players can do
- Check the Epic launcher. Look for Dark and Darker in your library and note whether the launcher offers access or an update. Epic’s official support page says updates are no longer available through the store.
- Contact IRONMACE about account or migration questions. Epic’s support page directs players to the developer. IRONMACE’s January 17, 2025 Hotfix #77 announcement says it implemented a migration feature for legacy Blacksmith users moving to a mainstream platform. That announcement does not confirm an Epic-user transfer route, current eligibility, or transfer of progress and paid content, so ask IRONMACE directly rather than assuming a transfer is available.
- Keep purchase and claim records. If you are seeking help with a purchase or a reported refund, retain relevant receipts and account details for your support request.
What Epic’s terms say about digital games
Epic’s Terms of Service, last updated September 10, 2026, describe digital products as licensed rather than sold and characterize the license as revocable. The terms also reserve the ability to suspend, discontinue, replace, or limit access in specified circumstances, including legal considerations; they discuss termination in situations such as stopping platform operations or a binding governmental order.
This is Epic’s contractual position, not a conclusion about how consumer rights apply to a particular player. The terms alone do not settle whether a specific library removal is lawful in every jurisdiction.
