Epic Games Store reported offering 86 free games in 2023, with a total value of $2,055 per player, according to its February 16, 2024 annual review. That full-year figure is separate from the 17 free games Epic announced for its 2023 Holiday Sale. Epic’s report gives annual totals, not a verified game-by-game calendar.
How many free games did Epic give away in 2023?
Epic Games Store’s annual review, published February 16, 2024, reports that it offered 86 free games during 2023. The same review reports 586 million free games claimed and a total value of $2,055 per player. The 586 million figure counts claimed games in aggregate; it is not the number of unique players or unique titles. The $2,055 figure is Epic’s reported total value per player, not cash savings guaranteed to every account.

What free games did Epic give away in 2023?
Epic’s annual review establishes the total but does not provide a complete, verified title-by-title inventory. A third-party historical list, FreeGames’ Epic Games Free Games 2023 list, says the year included 87 games, one more than Epic’s reported 86. The available sources do not explain the difference. Neither the third-party count nor an unverified calendar resolves the discrepancy, so a definitive complete list cannot be established from these sources.
