The right fix depends on which Kingdom Come game you have and what Epic displays. Check whether you’re troubleshooting Kingdom Come: Deliverance or Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and note the exact error—or whether the game is simply marked unavailable in your library—before trying a fix.
First, identify the game and symptom
Epic’s instructions cover different problems, not one universal launch fix. Use the path that matches what you see:
- Original Kingdom Come: Deliverance is marked unavailable in your Epic library: check for Fechtbuch or Festival Suite, as described below.
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II shows “License not verified”: update Epic Games Launcher and verify the game files.
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reports a WHGame.dll load error: follow the Visual C++ redistributables guidance for that specific error.
- A different error, or no matching symptom: collect the details and contact PLAION support rather than applying an unrelated fix.
Original Kingdom Come: Deliverance is unavailable in the library
If the original game’s Epic library entry is marked unavailable, Epic identifies Fechtbuch or Festival Suite as a possible conflict. Those apps may make the PC appear to have another instance of the game installed. Epic’s listed remedy is to uninstall the apps or move them to another or external drive, then relaunch Epic Games Launcher. See Epic’s unavailable-library guidance.
This applies to an unavailable library listing for the original game; it is not a general fix for a game that appears available but fails when you press Launch.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II says “License not verified”
Epic’s documented order for this error is to update Epic Games Launcher, verify the game files, and contact PLAION with the game logs if the problem remains. Epic’s license-error article gives the sequence.
- Update Epic Games Launcher. Install any available launcher update, then try the game again.
- Verify the game files. In the Epic Games Launcher, open your Library, select the game’s options menu, and choose Manage followed by Verify. Let verification finish before launching again.
- If the message persists, collect the logs. In the installed game folder, find
kcd_launcher.logandkcd.log. They may be inside a subfolder. - Send the logs to PLAION support. Include both files with your request so support can investigate the verification failure.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II reports a WHGame.dll load error
This is a separate, specific error—not the remedy for every failure to launch. Epic recommends reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables, obtaining both x64 and x84 versions, restarting the PC, and trying again.
