Before the reveal, a Game Awards logo in Epic’s teaser prompted speculation that the opener would be an award-winning title—but the logo did not identify a game or confirm a specific award. The giveaway ended on December 18, 2025, so it is no longer claimable.
What did Epic’s teaser suggest?
A December 4, 2025 report from Notebookcheck noted that Epic’s holiday mystery-game teaser carried The Game Awards logo. The logo led to a reasonable guess: the first giveaway might be an award-winning game. But it was only a clue. It did not name the title or establish whether the game had won an award in a previous year or was a current nominee.

The Hogwarts Legacy free-claim window ended December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET, according to Epic’s English guide. The offer is historical and has expired; any free game shown on Epic now is a separate promotion.

As part of the 2025 offer, Epic tied a Fortnite Harry Potter-themed Chocolate Frog Back Bling to playtime in Hogwarts Legacy. Players needed at least two hours of playtime by December 18 to qualify. Epic said reward delivery could take 24–48 hours after playtime was confirmed. These were conditions for the expired promotion, not instructions for a current reward.
