Epic Games filed a lawsuit on June 10, 2025, against Ediz Atas—identified in the court docket as “a/k/a Sincey Cheats and Vanta Cheats”—and five unnamed defendants. Epic alleges that Atas sold Fortnite cheat software called Vanta, which enabled players to see through walls and auto-aim, and that others resold it. Those are allegations, not court findings.
What Epic alleges about Vanta
In its complaint, Epic says Atas developed and sold subscription access to Vanta, software allegedly designed to give Fortnite players an unfair advantage through features including wallhacks and auto-aim. Epic also accused unnamed people of reselling the software. The court’s August order recounts these claims as allegations; it does not establish that the defendants committed wrongdoing. Epic’s Fortnite enforcement page lists the lawsuit among its 2025 actions.
Epic Games Newsroom said in a June 10, 2025 post, as quoted by GameSpot on June 12: “We filed a new lawsuit against an individual who developed and sold cheating software that helped players see through walls and auto aim. We’re also going after people who helped sell this software.” GameSpot’s report describes the filing and reproduces the statement.
Who was sued and where the case was filed
The docket names Ediz Atas, associates the aliases Sincey Cheats and Vanta Cheats with him, and lists Does 1–5 as defendants. Epic filed the complaint on June 10, 2025, in the Eastern District of North Carolina. The clerk transferred the case to the district’s Western Division the following day and assigned case number 5:25-cv-318. The docket listing records the parties, filing and transfer.

What the August 2025 court order did—and did not—decide
On August 18, 2025, Magistrate Judge Brian S. Meyers granted in part and denied in part Epic’s request to serve third-party subpoenas before the usual discovery conference. Epic sought information to identify two of the Doe defendants. The order concerned early discovery; it did not rule on whether Vanta infringed copyright or whether the alleged conduct occurred. The court order recounts the allegations and explains the discovery ruling.
What is known about the case’s later status
The docket mirror says its report was last retrieved on November 26, 2025, and cautions that a newer listing may be available through PACER. That record does not establish the case’s status or final disposition as of October 8, 2026. The August discovery order should not be read as a judgment on the claims.

How Epic says it handles Fortnite cheating
Epic’s official Fortnite enforcement page says the company uses Easy Anti-Cheat kernel-level protection, monitors suspicious behavior with data and machine learning, and asks players to report suspected cheating in-game. These are descriptions of Epic’s stated practices, not an independent technical assessment. The page also presents the Atas case as part of its 2025 enforcement activity.
