Which games were free?
The first reported giveaway was The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. PCWorld said Epic had not yet revealed the rest of the lineup when it published its article, so that report alone cannot verify all 16 titles.
How did the giveaway work?
As described in the report, the first offer was available until 8 a.m. on December 19, 2024. After that, new games were to be given away daily. A free Epic Games Store account was enough to participate; the report did not say that a purchase was required.

Can you still claim the games?
No. The giveaway was part of the 2024–25 holiday promotion, and its claim period has passed. PCWorld said the winter sale ended at 11 a.m. on January 9, 2025. The historical dates are not a current offer or a route to claim the games now.
What were the Epic Rewards terms?
PCWorld described a 10 percent Epic Rewards rate on purchases during that holiday sale, compared with the 5 percent rate it characterized as normal per game purchase at the time. Those figures describe the 2024 promotion and the terms reported then; they do not establish Epic’s current Rewards terms.
