Choose by the way you plan to fight
For deliberate, semi-automatic shots
Consider the SKS or OP-SKS if you prefer to take shots deliberately rather than use automatic fire. Check what ammunition you can actually acquire and match it to the weapon.
For an automatic option

For more specialized approaches
The Kedr is a community-suggested choice for close-range, leg-focused tactics, while the MP-153 is a shotgun alternative. The MP5 also appears in player recommendations as an SMG option. Treat all three as situational: choose them when their style fits your plan and you can obtain suitable ammunition, not because the discussion establishes an overall ranking.
Check ammunition and availability before you commit
- Identify the weapon’s caliber. Read the weapon details in game and use that caliber to narrow your ammunition search.
- Confirm the cartridge matches. Do not assume rounds with similar names or appearances are interchangeable. Caliber compatibility is weapon-specific.
- Check how you can keep buying or finding it. Look at current trader access and stock, and consider whether you can sustain the ammunition through your next raids. Exact unlocks, prices, and supply are not verified here and can vary with progression and the live build.
