Escape from Tarkov Patch 1.2.0.0, released October 6, 2026, adds six Prestige levels to PvE Zone. Prestige restarts PvE profile progression, but it does not wipe every mode: players may retain selected gear and up to 50% of skills and weapon mastery, and some rewards carry across modes. Battlestate Games’ notes establish what the update contains, but do not show that it is larger than earlier updates.
What Patch 1.2.0.0 adds
Battlestate Games describes Prestige as a way for high-level players to begin exploring Tarkov again while retaining part of their progress and earning unique rewards. The patch adds six PvE Prestige levels. Later levels have more demanding requirements, and the first PvE level has reduced requirements compared with PvP Prestige.
The update is focused on PvE improvements, but Prestige is not its only change. The notes also list bot behavior adjustments, quality-of-life changes, loot and extraction changes on Customs and Interchange, a Shoreline audio rework, and technical fixes.
What PvE Prestige resets—and what it can preserve
Each Prestige level resets profile progression only in PvE Zone. The patch notes say players can retain some gear and a percentage of their skills and weapon mastery, up to 50%. That is a ceiling, not a promise that every player keeps half of every category or retains all inventory.

- A great gift for the holidays or to add to your Tarkov collection
- Perfect for raiding!
The requirements may include character level, tasks, Hideout construction, main-story completion, stash items and money, and skill levels. The notes do not provide a complete level-by-level requirement table, so the exact threshold for each step should be checked in-game rather than inferred from the categories listed.
Which rewards carry over from PvE Prestige?
The final patch notes separate rewards tied to the PvE character from rewards available across game modes:

| PvE character | Unique dogtags, Shooting Range Targets, Hideout Posters, melee weapons, Tarko figurines, and a unique Secure container Gamma |
| Across game modes | TarCoins, as well as the cross-mode rewards listed in the patch notes |
The official pre-release explanation also said PvE Prestige does not reset EFT: Arena character progression. It previewed unique versions of the NKVD Finka knife, Akula dagger, and Gamma container, and said some unlocks could become available across modes. For the shipped reward list, the final patch notes are the more relevant reference; the earlier explanation should not be read as a guarantee that every previewed item has the same availability.
How PvE Prestige differs from PvP Prestige
| Question | PvE Prestige | PvP Prestige |
|---|---|---|
| First-level requirements | Reduced compared with PvP, according to the patch notes; exact thresholds are not stated there | More demanding than the first PvE level; exact thresholds are not stated there |
| What progression resets | Profile progression in PvE Zone only | Not stated in the cited Patch 1.2.0.0 notes |
| What can be retained | Some gear and up to 50% of skills and weapon mastery | Not stated in the cited Patch 1.2.0.0 notes |
| Reward availability | Some rewards are PvE-character-specific; the notes also identify cross-mode rewards | Not stated in the cited Patch 1.2.0.0 notes |
These notes support a comparison of the PvE first-level requirement and the scope of the PvE reset, but not a full account of PvP Prestige mechanics or a level-by-level comparison.
