Escape from Tarkov’s patch 1.2.0.0 maintenance was scheduled to start at 8:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM EDT on October 6, 2026. The announced installation window was five to seven hours, and it could be extended. The announcement does not say the update includes a wipe, so no wipe date or wipe reset time has been confirmed. As of October 8, 2026, the scheduled window has already passed, and the sources available do not confirm when the servers actually came back online.
What the October 6 notice scheduled
The maintenance notice was published as a Battlestate Games Game Update notice and was reproduced in a community post on r/EscapefromTarkov in 2026. The table below separates what the notice states from what can be confirmed now that the window has passed.
| Item | What the notice states | Status as of October 8, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Update | Patch 1.2.0.0 | Identified by name in the notice |
| Planned start | 8:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM EDT, October 6, 2026 (07:00 UTC) | The planned start has passed; the actual start time is not stated in the sources reviewed |
| Estimated duration | Five to seven hours, with an extension possible if required | An estimate only; actual downtime is not stated |
| Game availability | The game would be unavailable during installation | Window has passed; the reopening time is not confirmed |
| Official website and Battlestate Games Account Center | Might also be unavailable during the maintenance | Whether they were affected, and for how long, is not stated |
| Wipe | Not mentioned | Not confirmed |
Why the wipe claim is not confirmed
A patch installation notice and a wipe announcement are different things, and the October 6 notice only covers the first. Readers searching for a wipe time should keep the following points in mind:
- The notice schedules installation of patch 1.2.0.0. It does not describe the patch as a wipe.
- A wipe would require its own developer announcement with a separate date and time. None was found in the sources reviewed.
- The October 6 start time should not be read as a wipe reset time. Server downtime and a wipe are not the same event, and the notice does not link them.

Earlier maintenance for comparison
The official Escape from Tarkov Telegram channel published a separate technical patch notice for August 21 at 8:00 AM BST / 3:00 AM EDT. That notice estimated three to four hours of downtime, warned that the game would be unavailable, and allowed for a possible extension. It is a different notice from the October 6 patch and does not announce a wipe. Its start time matches the October 6 start time, which is useful only as a pattern for when the developers schedule maintenance.
How to check the current server status
- Open the official Escape from Tarkov Telegram channel. The developers use it for technical maintenance notices, and it is the first place to look for a confirmed reopening time or a wipe announcement.
- Check the official website and the Battlestate Games Account Center. The October 6 notice warned that both might be unavailable during maintenance, so a failed load during a maintenance window is not by itself evidence of a wipe.
- Treat community posts as secondary. Use them to find leads, then confirm against an official developer post before relying on a date or time.
- Look for an explicit wipe statement that names a date and a reset time. If the announcement only refers to a patch or to maintenance, the wipe status is still unconfirmed.
Players planning around the October 6 window should not assume the servers are still down or that they have reopened. The sources reviewed do not establish either condition.

What remains unknown
- The actual start and end times of the October 6 maintenance.
- Whether the installation ran within the five to seven hour estimate or was extended.
- Whether a wipe is planned for patch 1.2.0.0 or any later date.
The most accurate statement available is that patch 1.2.0.0 was scheduled for October 6, 2026, with an estimated downtime of five to seven hours, and that no wipe has been confirmed.
