Its event listing describes smugglers appearing in groups of three to four across seven maps, a five-quest chain, sealed weapon cases and locked cases in airdrops, and all Scav Bosses spawning on Reserve. The available sources do not establish an end date or whether the event is active in the October 8, 2026 game build.
When did the Smugglers event start?
The Escape from Tarkov Wiki’s event overview lists “Smugglers 2026” under March 12, 2026. It does not provide a definitive end date. A report published that day by iXBT Games also described the event, but the event listing is not confirmation of its present availability. Treat the details below as a record of the listed event, not a guarantee that its mechanics remain live.
Where were smugglers listed as appearing?
The event listing says smugglers appeared in groups of three to four on these maps:
- Customs
- Woods
- Shoreline
- Interchange
- Lighthouse
- Streets of Tarkov
- Ground Zero, for players level 21 and above
These are game mechanics as recorded by the community-maintained wiki, not independently tested observations. The level restriction applies to Ground Zero in the listing; it does not state a level requirement for the other six maps.

- Perfect for raiding!
What quests were part of the event?
The event page lists five quests: Bulldogs Under The Rug, Accept Delivery, Thirty Pieces of Silver, Restocking Supplies and Root of All Evil. The quest chain begins with Peacekeeper’s Bulldogs Under The Rug, which is listed as taking place on Shoreline.
Bulldogs Under The Rug objectives
The quest page lists three objectives:
- Eliminate a smuggler on any location.
- Locate the smugglers’ camp on Shoreline.
- Obtain evidence of the smugglers’ ties to Edward.
Its story says airdrops into Tarkov have become more frequent and smuggler activity around the bay has increased. Peacekeeper suspects the activity is connected to Edward; that is the game’s fictional quest premise, not real-world reporting.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What was unusual about the loot and Reserve spawns?
The event listing says airdrops contained sealed weapon cases and locked cases. It does not give drop rates or an authoritative inventory of what the cases contained. Players discussed how to find smugglers and handle locked cases in a March 12 Reddit thread, but community questions and reports do not establish case-opening mechanics.

The same event listing says all Scav Bosses were in every raid on Reserve. This is a listed event mechanic; it should not be read as a claim about ordinary Reserve raids or the current game build.
