For a dependable start in Throne and Liberty, follow the main story and Adventure Codex, then add local contracts as you pass through towns. Treat build recommendations as a place to begin—not a universal best-build list—and check the latest patch notes before making decisions about gear, balance, or seasonal content. These tips reflect the official Update 4.15.0 notes dated October 7, 2026.
Use the main story and Adventure Codex as your progression spine
The official character progression guide recommends main story quests and the Adventure Codex as the best way to progress, level up, and improve skills. They are a reliable default, not a required playstyle: the same guide says there is no single right way to play and points to dungeons, Conquest Battles, and other activities as valid alternatives or additions.

Pick up contracts while pursuing objectives
When you enter a town, check its local contracts and take ones that fit the objectives you are already pursuing. The official guide says contracts can provide experience, crafting materials, Abyssal Contract Tokens, and Training Dew; Training Dew increases mastery for the weapons you have equipped. This makes contracts a useful layer on your route without requiring a separate, supposedly optimal circuit.
Check current Auction House access in game
The progression guide describes the Auction House as a place to sell valuable items and food or find materials, and it lists access from level 40+. Because access rules and the market can change, use the live in-game interface to confirm availability rather than relying on that older threshold.

Choose a build direction, then make it your own
Path of the Stars, introduced in the Solisium’s Awakening release overview, offers weapon-combination recommendations as you level. Its cards can guide choices such as stat distribution, active and passive skills, Skill Specializations, Weapon Mastery modes, and Guardian selections. You can review cards later, and the game includes a reselection menu.
Use a recommendation to understand what a setup changes, then adapt it to your preferred role and activities. A suggestion may not apply immediately if you lack the required points or skill slots. The system is guidance, not evidence that one weapon pairing is best for every player or situation.
Build details are patch-sensitive. The 2024 launch notes describe Skill Specialization as a way to broaden customization and combat variety, but they are historical system context rather than a current tier list. Update 4.15.0, dated October 7, 2026, adjusted weapon skills and effects. Check the official news and release notes before copying detailed balance advice.
Prepare for group challenges and spend upgrades with a goal
The progression guide recommends crafting and upgrading gear and developing skills before taking on dungeon challenges. Treat preparation as gradual: improve what supports your next goal instead of assuming every item must be upgraded at once.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse the Lithograph Book selectively
The Lithograph Book lets you exchange specified inventory items for rewards, which can include rare or Epic Lithographs, equipment, and materials. You can target rewards you want rather than trying to complete the entire book. Before committing items, check the requested materials and reward in the current in-game book.
Recheck gear systems before following an old upgrade route
The Solisium’s Awakening overview described Tier 3 equipment progression through Growthstones and traits, along with accelerated progression features such as Hyperboost and Path of Ascension. Those details belong to that release and may have changed. For current upgrade requirements and sequence, consult the latest release notes and in-game descriptions.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose activities by the kind of play you want
You do not need to make every system part of a daily routine. Use this comparison to pick an activity that suits your immediate goal; exact availability and requirements can vary with updates and seasons.
| Activity | Useful when you want | Group or availability note |
|---|---|---|
| Main story and Adventure Codex | A dependable route for progression, leveling, and skill growth | Core quest progression; the official guide presents it as a recommended route. |
| Local contracts | Experience, materials, Abyssal Contract Tokens, and weapon mastery growth | Can be taken in towns and layered onto other objectives. |
| Dungeons, Conquest Battles, and guild activities | Group challenges and organized play | Requirements differ by activity; check the current in-game listing. |
| Fishing and cooking | A lower-pressure activity loop and food with special effects | Fishing uses a rod and bait near water; fish can be used in cooking. Cooking also includes party feasts. |
| Amitoi expeditions | Expedition growth and cooking-related items | Team limits and rewards can change; confirm them in the current interface. |
These options are described across the official progression guide and 2024 launch notes. For a side activity, fishing can supply ingredients, while cooking turns them into foods with special effects; Amitoi expeditions offer another progression-adjacent option.

Check the season before planning around Tower of Greed
NCSOFT announced Tower of Greed as a 50-floor dungeon designed for one to six players, and its announcement also described support for up to three simultaneous Amitoi Expedition teams. Those are announcement-era details, not a guarantee of current limits or access. The October 7, 2026 Update 4.15.0 notes say the then-current Tower of Greed season had ended and matchmaking was unavailable until a new season. Check the Update 4.15.0 notes and current in-game notices before planning a run.
Separate live changes from announced plans
Update 4.15.0, dated October 7, 2026, increased Trait Resonance enhancement success rates, added a crafting recipe for Trait Resonance Stones, adjusted weapon skills and effects, and ended the then-current Tower of Greed season. Read the full patch notes for the precise changes before applying older gear or build advice.
A separate Resistance Report dated October 2, 2026 discussed November work as planned, not shipped. The plans included a higher drop rate for max-level gear after players reach the maximum gear level; Hit Chance and Evasion adjustments, including changes to Dagger synergy; improved Vegamor scheduling and easier early and middle Guild Battle stages; increased Skill Core drop rates and guaranteed crafting; and three additional Skill Cores per weapon. Do not treat these as live changes unless a later release note confirms them. On Hit Chance, Evasion, and weapon synergy, the team said, “We don’t believe this issue can be fully addressed through numerical adjustments alone.”
