The Galaxy figures award specific items, Kirby’s summon trainable Figure Players, and Nintendo’s recap did not yet explain what the Metroid figures do.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 amiibo
Nintendo announced two larger-than-standard figures for the combined Galaxy release, both scheduled in its September 12, 2025 recap for April 2, 2026. Their rewards differ:
| Amiibo | Announced effect | Announced release |
|---|---|---|
| Mario & Luma | Grants a Life Mushroom in either Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Galaxy 2. | April 2, 2026 |
| Rosalina & Lumas | Grants a 1-Up Mushroom in either game. | April 2, 2026 |
Nintendo’s Direct recap described the figures as larger than standard amiibo. Nintendo Canada’s Mario and Luma product page also lists April 2, 2026 and points to My Nintendo Store; it does not establish current price or stock.
For comparison, Nintendo Support says other amiibo scanned in these Galaxy games can provide a coin. The named Mario and Rosalina figures have the specific mushroom rewards above; they should not be conflated with that general coin effect. For scanning, open the game menu, choose amiibo and touch the figure to the controller’s NFC touchpoint. The exact touchpoint depends on the controller; Nintendo’s support instructions cover Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Kirby Air Riders amiibo

- Kirby & Warp Star — Kirby paired with the Warp Star.
- Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star — Bandana Waddle Dee paired with the Winged Star.
The Direct recap gave November 20, 2025 as the launch date for these figures, alongside Kirby Air Riders. See Nintendo’s recap for the original announcement.
