Yes—both Rush and Conquest are in Battlefield 6. EA’s launch announcement confirmed eight multiplayer modes: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Escalation, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill. Here’s how their objectives differ, and how to distinguish the launch lineup from modes and experiences available through later updates or Portal.
What game modes are in Battlefield 6?
EA’s launch announcement named these eight multiplayer modes for Battlefield 6 at launch: Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Escalation, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination and King of the Hill. EA’s FAQ groups Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush under the All-Out Warfare suite, then identifies five additional multiplayer modes.
| Mode | Objective structure | How it plays |
|---|---|---|
| Conquest | Multiple objectives | Teams battle for control across a large battlefield; vehicles and holding objectives are central to EA’s description. |
| Breakthrough | Sequential sectors | Attackers push through sectors while defenders hold or retake ground. EA’s beta guide describes limited attacker lives and sector-based progress. |
| Rush | M-COM systems | Attackers plant explosives on M-COM systems and try to prevent defenders from defusing them. Destroying the systems advances the fight to another sector. |
| Escalation | Strategic control points | Two teams fight to capture strategic points. EA identified it as a new mode in the launch announcement. |
| Team Deathmatch | Elimination target | Included in EA’s confirmed launch list. The launch materials cited here do not specify a player count or further match rules. |
| Squad Deathmatch | Squad elimination target | EA’s beta guide describes four squads competing to reach a kill target first. |
| Domination | Multiple control points | Teams capture and hold several points in a faster-paced format, according to EA’s beta guide. |
| King of the Hill | One capture point | Squads contest a single capture point, as described in EA’s beta guide. |
The distinction between larger objective battles and closer infantry-focused fights is useful, but the cited launch and beta descriptions do not establish exact player counts or the current playlist rotation for each mode.
Is Rush in Battlefield 6?
Yes. Rush is one of the eight modes EA named for launch. Its defining objective is the M-COM system: attackers plant explosives, defenders try to defuse them, and destroying the systems moves the attack to another sector. EA’s mode details come from its Open Beta guide.

Is Conquest in Battlefield 6?
Yes. Conquest is also in the confirmed launch lineup. It centers on fighting over multiple objectives across a large battlefield, with vehicles and objective control prominent in EA’s description in the Open Beta guide.
What is the difference between Rush and Breakthrough?
Both modes move the battle through sectors, but their objectives are different. In Rush, attackers target M-COM systems with explosives while defenders attempt to defuse them. In Breakthrough, attackers push through sequential sectors and defenders hold or retake territory; EA’s beta guide also describes limited attacker lives. Choose Rush for the bomb-and-defuse objective, or Breakthrough for a sector-by-sector push over ground.

How do Portal and later updates affect the mode list?
The eight modes above are the launch lineup, not a promise that every mode is always available in a standard playlist. Battlefield Portal lets players create and play community experiences, including customized Conquest rules, horde experiences and formats unlike standard Battlefield matches, as described in EA’s FAQ.
EA’s later Play Your Way update discusses playlists, Custom Search, Server Browser and verified modes. Update 1.4.3.0 also lists additional modes that can be selected for Custom Lobbies, including Tactical Obliteration and Obliteration. Those later custom-lobby options are separate from the eight modes EA named at launch; playlists and ways to access modes can evolve.

What did EA say about the Open Beta?
EA reported 92,351,578 hours played during the Open Beta in its Play Your Way community update. That is a historical beta statistic, not a current player count, and it does not establish which modes were most popular.
In EA’s official reveal announcement, Battlefield Senior Vice President and General Manager Byron Beede said: “We had to nail the fundamentals of what players have loved about the series for more than 20 years.”
