As of October 8, 2026, EA’s Loadout Creation and Weapon Classes guide lists 60 named primary and secondary weapons across eight categories. That total is a count of entries in EA’s guide, not a separate statistic published by EA. It is a dated roster, not a final one: EA says Season 5 will add weapons, but its September 30 announcement did not name them.
Every Battlefield 6 weapon in EA’s current guide
The names and categories below follow EA’s guide. The category counts sum to 60. Availability depends on each weapon’s listed unlock route, and routes can change as seasonal content becomes available through catch-up challenges or events.

How weapon categories work with classes
Weapon access is partly shaped by the experience’s playlist rules. In EA’s guide, assault rifles are the Assault class Signature Weapon, SMGs the Engineer Signature Weapon, LMGs the Support Signature Weapon, and sniper rifles the Recon Signature Weapon. DMRs and shotguns are described as available to all classes in Closed Weapon experiences. Check the playlist rules rather than assuming every class can equip every category.
EA describes weapon roles and characteristics such as engagement range, rate of fire, recoil, and magazine capacity. Those descriptions can help narrow a choice, but they are not an independent performance test or a competitive ranking.

How to unlock the listed weapons
EA’s guide assigns different unlock paths: some weapons are default unlocks, while others require Career Rank progress, an assignment, a season catch-up challenge, a Battle Pass, or an event. Check the current in-game requirements for the specific weapon; appearing in the guide does not mean it is immediately available to every player.
Seasonal weapon access is not necessarily a paid DLC purchase. EA’s Battlefield 6 FAQ says gameplay-impacting seasonal content, including weapons, gadgets, and maps, is free or earnable.

Seasonal additions in the roster
EA’s official updates identify several weapons introduced in recent seasons. The current guide is the best reference for their present unlock wording, since routes may later change.
- Season 2: CZ3A1 SMG and vz. 61 sidearm, named in EA’s Season 2 update.
- Season 3: M16A4 assault rifle, RPK-74M LMG, and L115 sniper rifle, named in EA’s Season 3 roadmap. The current guide also lists the PP-19 and GRT-CPS with Season 3 routes.
- Season 4: EF88, BROD 3, VSSM, and Interdictor are listed in the current guide as additions associated with the season.
Will Season 5 add more weapons?
Yes. EA’s September 30, 2026 community update says new weapons are joining the arsenal, but the consulted announcement does not name them. EA’s October 1 outlook says full update notes will arrive before Season 5 goes live and also describes ongoing gunplay changes. The 60-weapon count therefore describes the guide on October 8, 2026, not a guaranteed Season 5 total.

Choosing a weapon without mistaking the roster for a tier list
Start with the role and range you want, then compare the guide’s stated cues: rate of fire, recoil, and magazine capacity. Finally, account for playlist class restrictions and the weapon’s unlock route. Gun performance is time-sensitive: EA’s October 2026 outlook says recoil and body-damage multipliers have been adjusted and that more gunplay tuning is planned. The guide’s role notes are not a substitute for a current balance comparison.
