Rockstar’s official GTA VI page and its Trailer 2 announcement establish Leonida and Vice City as part of the setting. The six names are collected in PC Gamer’s GTA 6 location guide, which also discusses unofficial theories and leaks; those speculative details should not be treated as confirmed locations.
Is Vice City in GTA 6?
Yes. Vice City is included, but it is one destination within the broader fictional state of Leonida—not the name of the entire setting or the only confirmed region. The other five named regions in the list are Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.

What is the GTA 6 map called?
The game’s setting is called Leonida. That is the fictional state name, not confirmation of a complete map title or a published map with defined borders. The location names identify major regions, but do not establish how they connect or where each sits in relation to the others.

To assess a map claim, check three things: who published it, whether the specific detail is explicitly named or inferred, and whether it concerns a region name or an unverified border, road, or coordinate. Rockstar and publisher announcements are the strongest evidence for official setting details; secondary guides can compile names, while fan maps and leaks remain separate from confirmed information.
What Rockstar has said about the world’s scale
In 2026, TechRadar reported from a Game Informer cover story that Rockstar North co-studio head Aaron Garbut described the world as “twice as big as GTA V’s world.” That is an attributed developer comparison, not an independently measured map-size calculation; the reporting does not provide a measurement method.

Garbut also described an emphasis on detailed environments: “This new world is different,” he said, adding that the team had “obsessed about every part – the rooftops, the alleys, the internals and everything in between.” Rockstar VP of art for lighting and rendering Owen Shepherd said the weather system had been re-engineered to make conditions “much more localized and persistent.” These comments offer context about the world’s design, but do not confirm additional locations or map boundaries. TechRadar’s report also mentions 170 animal species, a wildlife figure rather than a count of regions.
