Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025. Nintendo’s UK launch roundup named Mario Kart World and 18 more games for that date, plus six separate Nintendo Switch 2 Edition releases. This is the announced launch-day catalog—not a guarantee that every game is still in stock or available in your country today.

Nintendo’s UK roundup listed Mario Kart World and the following 18 additional games under “Also available on June 5th.” The list records Nintendo’s launch announcement; it does not establish current prices, stock or regional availability.

Nintendo’s UK launch roundup names these 19 entries in total when Mario Kart World is included. Separately, Nintendo of America described the launch as including “over 20 titles”; that broader announcement is not an exact count of the UK roundup’s named list.
Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games announced for launch
Nintendo placed these six games in a separate Switch 2 Edition category, also dated June 5. They are editions of named games, not a list of six new games exclusive to Switch 2.

Subscription classics
Nintendo also announced GameCube classics available from launch through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-ZERO GX and SOULCALIBUR II. These are subscription-catalog access, not new retail launch-day releases.
Free updates and later releases
The roundup distinguishes later June releases and free enhancements for selected existing Nintendo Switch games from its June 5 launch list. A free update to an existing game does not make that original game a new Switch 2 launch purchase.

Backward-compatible Switch games
Nintendo says Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. That compatibility expands what owners may play, but it does not turn every older Switch game into a Switch 2 launch title. Nintendo’s corporate release describes the system’s compatibility.

The roundup documents the games announced for launch in 2025, not live October 2026 availability. Check the Nintendo eShop for your country and local retailers before buying; stock, price, edition and sales format can differ by title and region. For example, CD PROJEKT RED said Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launched June 5, 2025 as either a physical 64 GB game card or a digital Nintendo eShop download. That confirms its launch formats, not the format or present-day availability of every game on this list.
