EA names five Power Shifts in The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy: Simcalibur, Noble Frogs, Crystal Slippers, Anansi’s Well, and the Enchanted Mirror. EA describes these storybook moments as events that can propel a Sim into Nobility and reshape who rules or how Favor shifts between Commoners and Royals. Of the five, Anansi’s Well is the only one with a detailed, publicly documented sequence in the sources available here.
What Power Shifts do
Power Shifts are storybook events in the Royalty & Legacy expansion. EA says they can launch a Sim into Nobility, and its pack overview explains that a Powershift can change who rules and how Favor moves between Commoners and Royals. EA sums up the broader stakes this way: “Every decision matters, and even the smallest choice can quietly tip the balance of power.” EA’s pack overview frames Favor as part of a larger system shaped by player choices.

Favor is associated with two groups—Commoners and Nobles—and the expansion also includes Dynasties and Swordsmanship. The Power Shift names below are confirmed by EA, but the official video description does not spell out the specific outcome, trigger, or limitation for four of them. Those details should not be assumed from an event’s name alone.

How to complete Anansi’s Trials
Anansi’s Well is the one Power Shift with a detailed walkthrough. PC Gamer places the well at the Darong Dynasty residence in Dambele, Ondarion, and reports four sequential trials. The steps below reflect that guide’s gameplay account; EA’s short official description does not provide this walkthrough.
- Find Anansi’s Well. Travel to the Darong Dynasty residence in Dambele, in Ondarion, and locate the well.
- Complete the storytelling trial. The first trial asks your Sim to tell a story.
- Share a secret. Complete the next trial by revealing a secret.
- Tell a lie. The third trial requires your Sim to tell a lie.
- Write an excellent story. Finish the final trial by writing an excellent story. The walkthrough reports that completing all four trials grants the Threadshifter Trait.
These trial descriptions and the reward are reported by PC Gamer’s Anansi’s Trials walkthrough, published February 12, 2026.

What the Threadshifter Trait does
According to the walkthrough, Threadshifter adds a “Shift Favor” interaction. It lets the Sim switch their Favor between Commoners and Royals, with a wait between switches. The source does not establish the cooldown’s length, so no exact timing can be given here.

Power Shifts sit within a pack that connects Favor to rule, Dynasties, and political choices. EA’s product page says any Young Adult or older Sim can start a Dynasty. Its head manages the Dynasty’s values, perks, heir, outcasts, and membership. Those systems provide context for why shifting Favor or changing who rules matters, but they do not establish additional effects for the four Power Shifts without detailed walkthroughs.
Rank #3
Swordsmanship is another part of the expansion’s power struggle. EA Help describes it as a level-10 skill used for duels, which can determine outcomes involving love, Dynasty headship, noble rivalry, marriage, Simoleons, or career promotion. Sims can practice with a Build Mode dummy, duel, or compete in tournaments. At level 5, a Sim can challenge the head of their own Dynasty for leadership. These are swordsmanship mechanics, not confirmed outcomes of every Power Shift.
EA’s product page says the expansion requires The Sims 4 and all game updates. It is an expansion feature, not a standalone game.
