In Slay the Princess, a vessel is a route outcome reached through decisions and events—not a conventional item you collect. Use the guide’s named outcomes below to target a specific route. Some choices lead to different branches, so you may need to replay the game to pursue alternatives.

How to use these vessel routes
These routes are drawn from Onyx’s community-authored Steam guide, “Chapter/Vessel Guide,” posted December 12, 2024, and updated March 13, 2025. Its retrieved text documents the outcomes below, but does not establish an exhaustive list or developer-confirmed mechanics. Follow each route from the stated Princess or chapter; reaching a chapter does not, by itself, guarantee its vessel.

Documented vessel routes
Adversary — “A Bold Heart”
- Take the knife into the basement.
- Attack the Princess, then keep fighting while following the Stubborn voice’s advice until the chapter ends.
Tower — “An Overwhelming Heart”
- Submit to the Tower.
- Break her chains, going against the Narrator’s advice.
Spectre — “A Yearning Heart”
- Go to the basement, with or without the blade.
- Talk with her until she offers a deal.
- Accept the deal and leave the cabin with her.
Nightmare — “A Tender Heart”
- Leave the Princess locked in the basement to reach the Nightmare path.
- Meet her in the basement.
- Agree to leave the cabin with her without betraying or attacking her.
Razor — “A Piercing Heart, Beating Free”
- For this Razor route, doubt that the apparently unarmed Princess is actually unarmed.
- Enter the basement without the knife.
- The guide says the remaining route mostly plays out on its own.
Razor — “A Piercing Heart in a Cage of Iron”
- Follow the corresponding Razor route, but take the knife into the basement.
- This is a separate vessel outcome from the knife-free Razor route.
Beast — “A Cunning Heart”
- Get eaten in the Beast’s chapter.
- Tell her she can leave. She exits and spits you out, ending the chapter.
Witch — “A Righteous Heart”
- Enter the basement with the knife and talk with the Witch.
- Agree to leave together, then tell her to go first.
- Walk upstairs together. The guide says either of two choices at this point yields the same vessel achievement, though the ending results differ.
Stranger — “A Rich and Vibrant Heart”
- Choose a stairway to the basement.
- Use the explore choices to fracture her.
- Select the combined option to slay, rescue, and leave her.
Why this is not an exhaustive checklist
The documented route material available here supports the nine outcomes above, including two distinct Razor vessels. It does not establish the full vessel inventory or every route condition in the current game. The official website does not publish a route checklist, and the Steam guide displayed a removal or incompatibility notice when retrieved. Treat these as community-guide instructions, not a verified complete list; do not infer a total vessel count or assume an undocumented route is absent.
For a complete run-by-run checklist, compare your in-game vessel collection with a route reference that has been checked against the current game. The guide’s examples show why repeats may be needed: taking or leaving the knife and choosing whether to accept an offer can send a run down different branches.

Platforms and editions
The official site lists Slay the Princess for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Its buy page lists physical Collector’s Editions for Switch and PS5; listing an edition confirms it exists, not that a particular retailer currently has stock.
