Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 1, titled 鬼 HUNTERS (Demon Hunters), launched on December 1, 2024 with a new island, seven featured firearms, the Typhoon Blade, Oni Masks, Sprites and Boons, expanded movement, and a new Battle Pass. Epic said the season would end February 21, 2025, at 2 AM ET; these are launch-era details, not confirmation that its map or rewards are available today.
What was new in Chapter 6 Season 1?
The season combined a Japanese-inspired island theme with new combat items, traversal options, and building edits. Its systems were designed to serve different needs: firearms and the Typhoon Blade for combat, masks and Boons for specialized effects, and movement changes for getting around the island.

What was on the Chapter 6 Season 1 map?
Epic introduced an island spanning traditional architecture, modern settlements, and supernatural landscapes. The named locations illustrate that range; Epic’s launch announcement did not rank them or identify a single best landing spot.

Which new weapons and combat items did the season add?
Seven featured firearms
Epic named seven firearms for the season. The launch article did not provide comparative damage statistics or a ranked weapon analysis, so the list is best read as a roster rather than a tier list.
- Holo Twister Assault Rifle
- Fury Assault Rifle
- Veiled Precision SMG
- Surgefire SMG
- Sentinel Pump
- Twinfire Auto Shotgun
- Oni Shotgun
Epic stated: “All traditional weapons in Battle Royale Chapter 6 will be hitscan!”
Typhoon Blade
The Typhoon Blade was a melee weapon that Epic described as precise. Holding it allowed faster sprinting and lower stamina consumption, giving it movement utility as well as a close-range role.

Oni Masks
Lesser demons dropped Oni Masks, each with a distinct effect: the Fire Oni Mask launches homing flame projectiles, while the Void Oni Mask teleports the player. Epic’s launch announcement describes those functions but does not establish further mechanics here.
Weapon Expertise and boss rewards
Weapon Expertise Quests awarded XP for specified combat tasks. Completing them unlocked the option to purchase a Legendary version of that weapon type from characters on the map.
Two bosses also had named rewards. Shogun X dropped a Wanderer Medallion, which granted infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting. Night Rose dropped a Night Rose Medallion, which made weapons reload themselves.

How did Sprites, Sprite Shrines, and Boons work?
Sprites brought different effects, while taking one to a forgotten Sprite Shrine revitalized the shrine and granted a Boon.

What changed for movement, vehicles, and building?
New movement options
Four movement features joined core movement: Ledge Jump, Roll Landing, Wall Kick, and Wall Scramble. Epic said they would apply in Battle Royale, Reload, and creator-made islands. Roll Landing could restore some stamina; the other features expanded jumping, wall movement, and reaching ledges.

Vehicles
The season named two vehicles: the Rogue Bike and Void Burn.
Simple Edit
Simple Edit was a settings option for editing builds with one button press. The edit it selected depended on which building part the player viewed. It offered a smaller set of edits than the existing system, making the choice a trade-off between quick, contextual edits and a broader set of options—not a universally better replacement.

The named outfits were Nyanja, Jade, Kendo, Daigo, Shadow Blade Hope, Disney’s Hero Baymax, and The Night Rose. Epic also announced that Godzilla Evolved would be available from Battle Pass Quests in January 2025.
