The $15,000 figure was reported as GO1’s prize for winning the bracket; coverage reported that KojiKOG earned $4,800 for finishing fifth.

The clip shows KojiKOG screaming and clutching his head as GO1 shrugs. It became a reaction meme, but the match was not an elimination match: EVO uses a double-elimination format, so a player who loses on the winners side drops to the losers bracket rather than leaving the tournament.
Did KojiKOG lose $15,000?
No. The $15,000 amount was reported as GO1’s prize for winning the bracket, not money KojiKOG lost. PC Gamer’s coverage reports that KojiKOG received $4,800 for fifth place. PC Gamer’s article prints GO1’s figure as “$15,00,” apparently a typo; the $15,000 amount is the intended figure reported in coverage, rather than an official payout document cited here.

How did KojiKOG finish the tournament?
After losing to GO1, KojiKOG continued in the losers bracket. He later lost 2–0 to POONGKO in Losers Quarterfinals and finished fifth, according to EVO’s bracket recap. His reaction to GO1 therefore came before his eventual elimination, not at the moment he was knocked out.
Was the reaction a real meltdown?
Gaming coverage described the outburst as a playful, dramatic bit—not as a confirmed panic attack or other medical event. PC Gamer and The Daily Dot connect the moment to an earlier KojiKOG–GO1 encounter at EVO 2015, where a similar reaction became part of their running joke. The clip can look intense without establishing that KojiKOG was experiencing a medical crisis.

Why did the clip become a meme?
The contrast between KojiKOG’s theatrical response and GO1’s shrug made the moment easy to reuse as a reaction image and GIF. Know Your Meme documents the clip’s spread into GIFs and exploitable templates, alongside the caption “NO ONE HAS EVER LOOKED LIKE THEY SUFFERED LIKE THIS IN HUMAN HISTORY,” posted by X user kayos_o on August 3, 2025.
Know Your Meme reported that the original X post had surpassed 19.1 million views and 183,000 likes in a day. Those are historical figures reported at the time, not current totals.
