Start by verifying the release. The official Arcade Archives catalog result checked for this guide did not identify an Exzisus entry, and no release-specific store page or manual was located. That means the console, menu labels, button mapping, remapping support, and latency of an “Exzisus Arcade Archives” edition cannot be stated as established facts yet.
What is documented is the 1987 Taito arcade original: MAME defines a joystick and two buttons for each player, while a historical game listing describes an 8-way joystick and two action buttons. If you have a legitimate modern listing, use the edition’s own manual and settings screen for exact configuration. Until then, the safest input-lag improvements are general ones—enable your display’s game mode, remove unnecessary video processing, and test a direct wired controller connection where the platform supports it.

Is an Exzisus Arcade Archives release currently confirmed?
Not from the evidence available for this title. The retrieved official Arcade Archives catalog search did not identify Exzisus. That is not proof that no edition exists: a searchable catalog result can be incomplete, region-specific, delisted, or indexed differently from a console store. Treat the release and its platform as unverified until you can open an official product page for your region.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsVerify the product before changing settings
- Search the official HAMSTER Arcade Archives catalog for “Exzisus,” including alternate capitalization and punctuation.
- Check the digital store on the console you intend to use. Confirm that the publisher, title, platform, region, and product identifier all match.
- Look for an edition-specific manual or an in-game help page. Do not rely on the settings menu of another Arcade Archives title; the series supports game settings, but the available options vary by game.
- Record the exact platform and edition name before asking about button labels, remapping, save behavior, or latency.
| Question | What is established | What remains unverified |
|---|---|---|
| Original game | Exzisus is documented as a Taito arcade game from 1987. | Nothing about a particular modern port follows automatically from the arcade version. |
| Arcade controls | Joystick input plus two buttons per player are defined in MAME; historical documentation calls the joystick 8-way. | Modern controller button labels, trigger assignments, and menu navigation. |
| Arcade Archives edition | The checked official catalog result did not identify an entry. | Whether an edition exists, which console it targets, its region, and its release date. |
| Input latency | No release-specific latency measurement was found. | Any millisecond figure, comparative ranking, or claim that a particular controller is faster for Exzisus. |
What controls did the original Exzisus arcade game use?
Eight directions and two action buttons
The original cabinet is documented with an 8-way joystick and two buttons for each player. MAME’s input definitions are the strongest technical evidence in the available material; a specialist historical listing provides the same broad description. Those are arcade-original controls, not a verified mapping for a current console edition.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Switch and Windows.
- Supports ultimate software - customize button mapping and create macros
- Dynamic button layout - button mapping changes with mode functionally and visually
- Ultra-moddable arcade stick - Universal mounting plate supports Sanwa arcade sticks
- Three ways to connect: Bluetooth, 2.4g and wired USB-C. The included 2.4g receiver has a special hidden compartment to store it safely.
An 8-way stick permits the four cardinal directions and the four diagonals. A two-button layout does not tell you which modern face buttons, shoulder buttons, or keyboard keys a port may choose. It also does not establish whether a modern version supports simultaneous presses, turbo functions, analog-stick input, or custom assignments.
Why the distinction matters
Arcade Archives releases often expose a mixture of emulation and platform options, but the existence of a setting in one game does not establish that Exzisus has it. A store description for a different Arcade Archives title cannot prove Exzisus has button remapping, language options, rapid-fire settings, screen filters, or a particular control test. Use the original layout as a starting point only, then read the verified edition’s own instructions.
How to set up controls on a verified edition
Once an official listing is confirmed, configure the game in this order. The procedure deliberately avoids inventing a menu path that has not been documented for Exzisus.

- Compatible with Switch/Switch 2, PS4, PS3, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC Windows, macOS, Steam Deck, Android.
- Compatible with Sanwa Denshi buttons and joystick that is perfect for customization
- Supports the XINPUT and DINPUT when being used on PC

- F300 is compatible with PS5 by MAYFLASH Magic-S Ultimate adapter or MagicBoots-S5 Converter.
- Identify the edition. Write down the console, region, product name, and software version shown on the store page or title screen.
- Open the edition’s documented settings. Start with the game’s manual, help screen, or settings entry. If the game has no control menu, check the platform’s controller-assignment feature instead.
- Connect one controller directly. For initial testing, plug the controller into the console or handheld dock when that option exists. Avoid hubs, adapters, and wireless links until the basic mapping works.
- Map the directional input. Choose the control that gives reliable 8-way movement. If both a D-pad and an analog stick are available, test diagonals in the game rather than assuming one is preferred.
- Map the two actions. Assign the game’s first and second buttons to two easy-to-reach controls. Keep the positions consistent while testing so that a perceived delay is not actually a muscle-memory error.
- Save or confirm the assignment. Some games apply changes immediately; others require an Apply, Confirm, or Save command. Return to gameplay and verify both actions before disconnecting the controller.
- Test player two only if needed. The arcade evidence defines two buttons per player, but it does not establish how a modern release handles a second controller. Add it after player one is stable.
Settings you should not assume
| Feature | Safe conclusion before checking the edition |
|---|---|
| Remapping | Possible in some games, but not established for Exzisus. |
| Analog-stick support | Not established; the original used an 8-way joystick. |
| Keyboard controls | Not established for any console release. |
| Rapid fire or autofire | Not established. |
| Two-player setup | The arcade original had per-player controls; modern multiplayer behavior is unverified. |
| Save-state or button-test screens | Not established for Exzisus. |
How to reduce input lag without a release-specific measurement
No measured input-lag result for an Exzisus Arcade Archives edition was found, so there is no defensible millisecond target or before-and-after score to quote. You can still reduce avoidable delay in the equipment chain. Treat the following as general setup suggestions, not tested Exzisus fixes.
1. Put the display in its lowest-latency mode
- Open the television or monitor’s picture settings.
- Enable the mode labeled Game, Game Mode, or an equivalent low-latency preset.
- Turn off motion interpolation, frame smoothing, artificial sharpening, noise reduction, and other post-processing features that are not needed for a pixel-based arcade image.
- Disable extra picture processing on the input used by the console, then retest the game from the same position and display input.
Menu names differ by display manufacturer. If a feature cannot be disabled individually, the display’s game preset is usually the appropriate starting point.
2. Test a wired controller connection
If the platform accepts a wired controller, connect it directly for a comparison run. Keep the same display, game, and button assignments while switching only the controller connection. Wireless performance depends on the platform, controller, radio environment, battery state, and firmware, so a wired connection is a troubleshooting control rather than proof that wireless play is unsuitable.

- 【Dynamic Button Layout】When you switch between Switch and PC (X-Input) mode, Arcade Stick's dynamic button layout instantly changes its visual layout.
- 【3 Ways to Connect】Bluetooth, 2.4g and wired USB-C. The included 2.4g receiver has a special hidden compartment to store it safely.
- 【Compatibility】Compatible with Switch, Windows.
- 【Ultra-moddable】You can swap out 30mm/24mm arcade buttons. Arcade Stick is even designed with a universal joystick mounting plate. It supports virtually every arcade stick ever made such as Sanwa JLF.
3. Remove avoidable links
For diagnosis, connect the console directly to the display instead of routing the signal through an AV receiver, capture device, splitter, or other processor. If the platform requires one of those devices, check whether it has a game or bypass mode. Restore your normal setup after testing if the intermediary is needed for audio or switching.

Do not compare a suspected lag problem while changing the display preset, controller, resolution, and game settings at the same time. Change one variable, play the same repeatable action sequence, and note the result. This will not produce a laboratory measurement, but it can reveal whether the delay follows the display, connection, or controller.
5. Check for a platform-level controller assignment
Some consoles provide accessibility or system-wide button assignment. If the game itself does not expose remapping, such a feature may change the controls before the software receives them. Verify that the assignment applies to this game and that it does not introduce a toggle, hold, or swapped-button behavior that feels like lag.

Diagnose the symptom before blaming input lag
| What you notice | Likely check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Every command feels late, including menu navigation | Display processing or an extra device in the video chain | Enable game mode and test a direct console-to-display connection. |
| Only wireless play feels inconsistent | Controller connection, battery, or radio conditions | Repeat with a direct wired connection where supported. |
| Diagonals fail but cardinal directions work | Control type or mapping rather than latency | Test the D-pad and analog stick separately; confirm that the game expects 8-way input. |
| One action does not register | Incorrect assignment, an unconfirmed remap, or a faulty button | Reopen the edition’s control screen, confirm the change, and test another controller if available. |
| Delay appears only during busy scenes | Could be emulation, display behavior, or perception; no Exzisus-specific measurement is available | Repeat the same scene after changing one setup variable and record the conditions. |
| Sound and picture are both late | Display or audio processing | Use the display’s game preset and bypass unnecessary audio/video processing. |
A practical comparison framework for your setup
When comparing two console or controller arrangements, document the factors that can change responsiveness. Without the exact edition and a controlled test, these are comparison criteria—not a ranking of specific products.
| Variable | Values to record | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Platform | Console or handheld model, region, and software version | Different platforms can expose different settings and controller paths. |
| Controller link | Wired, wireless, adapter, or hub | Connection hardware adds another possible source of inconsistency. |
| Control device | D-pad, analog stick, arcade-style stick, or other supported input | The original game expects 8-way joystick behavior; modern devices may feel different. |
| Display mode | Game mode on or off; processing features enabled or disabled | Video processing can affect the time between an input and the visible response. |
| Remapping | Game-level, system-level, or unavailable | Remapping changes which physical control generates each action and may alter how errors are perceived. |
| Test conditions | Same scene, controller charge, display input, and cable path | Changing several conditions at once makes the comparison unreliable. |
How to verify a future listing before buying or downloading
- Confirm that the title is spelled exactly and that the product page names the intended platform.
- Check that the page is an official store or publisher listing, not a forum post or an unrelated compilation reference.
- Look for a manual, screenshots of the settings screen, or a control section that explicitly names Exzisus.
- Read regional availability and language information separately; a listing in one region does not establish availability elsewhere.
- Do not buy an arcade stick, replacement part, or adapter on the assumption that it is compatible with an unverified edition.
What the current evidence can—and cannot—tell you
You can plan around the original two-button, 8-way-joystick design and use standard low-latency display and connection practices. You cannot yet state the modern button labels, remapping route, supported controller types, platform compatibility, or input-lag figure for an Exzisus Arcade Archives product. Those details require a confirmed official listing and that edition’s own manual or settings screen.
Until that evidence is available, the most reliable workflow is: verify the product, configure the actual release rather than another Arcade Archives game, then isolate display and controller variables one at a time. This avoids turning assumptions about the 1987 cabinet into unsupported claims about a modern port.
