It sits across the TIE hangar inside the Imperial Fueling Station, and the control-room computer only gives you information about it. To reach it, you leave the Trailblazer through its cargo hold, slip through the docking area, work your way through the control room and maintenance route, and cross the hangar to a locked terminal room on the far side. The steps below follow the detailed VULKK walkthrough, with a Game8 recommendation noted where it offers a different option.
Where the Data Vault Is in False Flag
False Flag takes Kay to Fuel Station Visavi, where TIE fighters escort the Trailblazer into the docking bay. VULKK’s walkthrough places the quest after New Tricks and a return to Waka and the ship at Jaunta’s Hope. Once you are inside the station, the vault is across the TIE hangar, not in the first area you reach.

Step-by-Step Route to the Data Vault
- Leave the Trailblazer through the cargo hold. Activate the panel to open the cargo-hold door and move toward the cargo elevator while Waka handles the Imperials. Sneak past or take down the nearby engineer. VULKK advises against moving toward the exposed officer-and-stormtrooper side of the area, where you are likely to be spotted.
- Use the cargo sled and the vent. If needed, have Nix fetch nearby loot. Activate the cargo sled and use it as cover to pass the Imperials. In the dim hallway, enter the vent on the right. Summon and ride the lift, then wait behind crates until two officers leave. Have Nix sabotage the alarm panel and distract the stormtrooper before you move on.
- Get the vault information from the control room. Enter through the left-side entrance into the control room. Stealth-takedown the two officers, then access the computer near the window. This computer gives you the Data Vault information you need, but it does not finish the objective. Game8’s guide also places this terminal in the control room on the docking bay’s upper floor.
- Take the maintenance route. After the ladder and the locked door, use cover and time your movement around the security camera. Go through the maintenance shaft and vent, then follow the canister area and lockpick the port to lower the ray shield. VULKK describes a slicing step that switches off the security camera and the maintenance energy barrier.
- Cross the TIE hangar. The Data Vault lies on the far side. VULKK’s detailed route uses a timed elevator, then the terminal-side door, then stairs. It warns against shooting the explosive canister, because other troopers nearby could be alerted. Game8 recommends the upper-floor platforming section instead of sneaking past the guards, since that option requires avoiding only two enemies. Treat Game8’s advice as a recommendation, not a guaranteed best path.
- Enter the vault room. Go upstairs, pick the locked door, and close it behind Kay. The Data Vault terminal is on the dark side of this room. Kay meets Bosnok here, and the mission moves to the choice of whom to frame. Reaching the hangar-side path or another locked room does not complete the Data Vault interaction on its own; you need to reach this terminal room.
Route Options Compared
| Route | What the walkthrough says | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Timed elevator and stairs (VULKK) | A detailed, step-by-step route that uses a delayed elevator, then a door and stairs on the far side of the TIE hangar. | Players who want the full route with guard timing and patrol notes. |
| Upper-floor platforming (Game8) | Recommended as easier than sneaking past the guards because only two enemies must be avoided. | Players who would rather move through the platforming section than handle more guards. |
Neither source gives completion times, difficulty-specific results, or evidence that one route is safer in every case. The two options are alternatives for the same hangar crossing, not two different vaults.

- You have left the Trailblazer through the cargo hold, not through the exposed officer-and-stormtrooper side.
- Nix has been used for the alarm panel and the stormtrooper distraction, if you needed the help.
- You have accessed the control-room computer near the window and received the vault information.
- The security camera and maintenance energy barrier are down before you move on from the shaft.
- You are in the terminal room on the dark side, where Kay meets Bosnok, before expecting the vault objective to resolve.

VULKK’s walkthrough by Siow was published August 29, 2024, and it provides the detailed sequence described above. Game8’s guide was last updated August 28, 2025. Only its search excerpt was available, so it is used here to corroborate the upper-floor option, not for fine-grained steps. The official StarWars.com Star Wars Outlaws page covers general game context such as syndicate missions and the Trailblazer, but it does not describe this mission’s route. These routes come from published walkthroughs rather than hands-on testing, and later game updates may have changed some details.
