What makes its open world distinctive?
Ubisoft’s 2008 Steam product copy advertises an open world larger than 50 km² and more than 70 side missions. The publisher does not provide a measurement method for the area figure, so treat both numbers as product-description claims rather than independently verified measures.

What does “FIXED” mean?

Valve’s Steam update notice dated 5 November 2008 records an official update addressing six areas: Dolby 5.1 support for most sound cards; mission objective markers not appearing after loading a save; health behavior when changing difficulty; Jackal and Partner Tape pages; Field Manuals not unlocking after a game-mode change; and glider key remapping.

Community-made FC2 Jackal Fix
The FC2 Jackal Fix GitHub project describes a separate community patch for PC. Its maintainer lists display modes, an FPS limiter, internal-resolution controls, graphics and input adjustments, FOV settings, controller vibration and prompts, and fixes for several high-frame-rate, rendering, UI, and save issues. It also lists optional content unlocks and startup settings. These are maintainer-described features; their effectiveness and compatibility are not independently established here.
If you choose to use it, consult the project’s own release notes and installation instructions for compatibility with your game version and system. It is community software, not an official Ubisoft update.

Is Far Cry 2 worth considering today?

Skip it if multiplayer access is essential or if you expect “FIXED” to guarantee a particular official edition or repair.
