What kind of game is Farmagia?
In Farmagia, you play as Ten, exploring the Underworld of Felicidad, gathering resources, and growing and training monsters that become your force in battle. The story follows Ten and his friends as they resist Glaza, an oppressive new ruler. Character and monster designs are credited to Hiro Mashima. Marvelous Games’ official game page describes it as an action RPG and farming game.

The unusual hook is that farming produces combat companions rather than focusing on ordinary crop cultivation. That gives the game a clear identity, though the reviews indicate that the idea does not make every activity feel equally engaging.
What do reviews say about Farmagia?
The available reception is mixed, and the platform evidence should be kept distinct. Metacritic’s Nintendo Switch critic page displayed a 64 Metascore, labeled “Mixed or Average,” from seven critic reviews when crawled; the listed scores ranged from 50 to 80. Separately, RPGFan’s Abraham Kobylanski scored the PlayStation 5 version 75 in a review published November 23, 2024. Farmagia is most likely to appeal if the idea of raising a team of monsters and sending them into battle sounds fun even when the surrounding tasks repeat. Its story, character designs, and anime presentation may also be a draw. It is a less obvious choice if you want farming to be a deep, tightly integrated system or expect every exploration and dungeon activity to offer substantial variation.

For Switch buyers, the critic snapshot is mixed and performance reports are not uniform. The available PS5 review offers a separate, more positive score, but the evidence here does not establish a direct platform performance comparison. Choose based on your preferred platform and how strongly the game’s monster-growing premise appeals to you, rather than assuming one version is definitively better.

Farmagia released November 1, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Nintendo’s Switch listing describes the game as single-player and says its behavior is consistent on Switch 2; that compatibility statement is not a comparison of frame rate or image quality with PS5 or PC. Marvelous says physical editions are available for Switch and PS5. Its Limited Edition description includes the game, a soundtrack CD with 23 arrangements, and an art book of more than 90 pages.
