Why critics liked it
Reviews highlight the breadth of machinery and the appeal of a deliberate farming routine. Hooked Gamers praised the equipment range and interactive weather, while GRYOnline.pl called it the series’ best to that point despite finding parts of play irritating. Those are reviewers’ judgments, not a guarantee that every player will find the routine relaxing.
Why the reaction is mixed
Several reviews describe a familiar series formula rather than a major leap. GameStar’s Metacritic summary called it “a content powerhouse with technical improvements” but cautioned that buyers of its predecessor might be disappointed. What kind of game is it?
The core appeal is the work itself: operating agricultural machinery, managing fields and other farm activities, and building a routine over time. The pace is intentionally methodical. That can make the game a comfortable place to settle in, but the same loop can feel repetitive if you want constant plot turns or action.
New players should expect to learn several systems. At least one review criticized the tutorial as brief, so do not assume it will explain every task or mechanic. If you enjoy exploring menus, learning equipment and setting your own goals, the learning curve may be part of the appeal; if you want a guided campaign, that structure may frustrate you.

- Consider it if you like simulation games built around steady routines, machinery, farm planning and gradual progress.
- Be cautious if you want a major departure from Farming Simulator 22, dislike repetitive tasks, or expect the tutorial to teach every system.
- If you already own FS22, weigh the new game’s content and technical changes against how much you still enjoy the older game. Reviews characterize FS25 as an iteration, and the available evidence does not establish controlled head-to-head performance or content comparisons.

What is included, and what costs extra?
Keep the base game distinct from optional content. GIANTS describes free updates and patches, community-created mods available through its official ModHub, and separately sold packs and expansions. The publisher says ModHub creations are tested before release there. A 2024 launch announcement described the Year 1 Season Pass as including three official packs and one major expansion; that was the publisher’s plan at the time, so check current storefront listings for what is available and included. - Does your preferred platform suit your controls and multiplayer needs?
- Are the base game, free mods and any separately sold expansions a better fit for your budget than continuing with FS22?
