Faron Temple’s first doorway is a waypoint, not the route to the end: leave through the Stilled Faron Wetlands, open another entrance, then work through the temple’s electric-crystal, weight, and paired-switch puzzles. The shortest route needs two locked doors; the third is optional. The Big Key comes from the second Manhandla, and Gohma can be stunned by electrifying its three green crystals.
Before you enter: why the first door is blocked
Faron Temple is part of the Lands of the Goddesses main quest and lies inside the Stilled Faron Wetlands Rift. You reach it after obtaining Blossu’s Membership Card during “A Rift in Faron Wetlands” and escaping Deku Scrub Lockup. The temple spans four floors and uses multiple entrances, exits, dark rooms, and electrical puzzles, so activate Waypoints as you find them. (Nintendo Life)
The main entrance is deliberately blocked from this side. Activate its Waypoint, return to the Still World, and use the left-side platforms to follow the alternate route to a ladder and upper entrance. In the nearby side-on section, a Strandtula can help you climb to an optional chest containing 10 Warm Peppers. Outside the temple, learning the Armos Echo also gives you a useful tool for statue puzzles; Bind can move an Armos statue to reach another entrance. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life)
What to bring: choose Echoes by puzzle
You do not need one fixed Echo loadout. Match the tool to the obstacle:

- Green crystals: Buzz Blob, Electric Keese, or another electricity-producing Echo.
- Pressure plates and scales: heavy Echoes such as Boulders.
- Paired floor switches: two Armos Echoes, or an Armos Echo and a movable statue.
- Climbing: Strandtula or Water Blocks, depending on the room.
- Manhandla’s purple heads: Bombs or Bombfish.
- Dark rooms: light the braziers; a Glow Smoothie is an optional visibility aid.
Bind is useful throughout for shifting statues, rocks, and—in the boss fight—Manhandla’s heads. Room layouts and platforms matter: look for a clear line to each crystal, including targets hidden behind movable rocks. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life; Prima Games)
Open the upper route and get the Dungeon Map
- Enter from above. Follow the alternate route from the Still World to the temple’s upper entrance. Reach the main hall and use its floor switch to open access.
- Work through the moving-platform room. Use the platforms to reach the other side. If you want the optional 50-rupee chest in the water section, detour for it, then return to the platform room.
- Activate the green crystals. Use an electric Echo to hit the crystals. Once all are active, the route to the Dungeon Map opens. Check behind movable rocks if a target seems to be missing.
There are other crystal-target rooms deeper in the temple. Activate all three targets in those rooms to reveal their chests, including Small Keys needed for progression. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life; Prima Games)

Find the Small Keys and solve the dark-room route
Use weight to open the barred chest route
In the scale room, place heavy Echoes such as Boulders on the scale to tip it and trigger the switch. Use the raised route to reach the chest behind the bars and collect its Small Key.
Make the paired switches register together
For two floor switches that need to be pressed nearly simultaneously, summon two Armos Echoes near them and adjust their starting positions until their walking cycles overlap both switches. Some rooms have different distances to the switches, so give the statues time to sync. If a movable statue is available, Bind it into position and pair it with an Armos Echo instead. Navigate the dark and underwater rooms
Light braziers to make dark rooms easier to read. In the underwater section, use Bind to move an Armos or other obstruction and Water Block Echoes to reach the chest described on the route. A Glow Smoothie can improve visibility, but it is not required to proceed. Activate Waypoints along the way to make later returns less cumbersome. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life)
Beat the first Manhandla
The first Manhandla encounter is a two-headed fight, not the Big Key battle. Attack a head until it is stunned, then strike the exposed red weak point. Bind can pull a head into reach or expose its weak area while your Echoes attack. After both heads are defeated, the plant retreats; continue through the newly opened route. Get the Big Key from the second Manhandla
Continue through the later water and dark-room routes, using Waypoints to keep the return trip manageable. In the later pressure-plate room, move rocks off the scales if they obstruct the setup, then use two Armos Echoes to press the switches together. Heavy Echoes activate weighted platforms; Water Blocks or a Strandtula help with climbs to the locked route.
The second Manhandla has four heads. Deal with the green heads as in the first encounter. Purple heads are more resilient, so use a Bomb or Bombfish to damage them. When a head is stunned, attack the exposed weak point; defeat all four heads, then open the chest for the Big Key. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life)

Defeat Gohma
- Unlock the boss room. Return to the boss door and use the Big Key.
- Stun Gohma. Electrify its three green crystals with an electric Echo such as Buzz Blob, Electric Keese, or Electric Wizzrobe. Zelda Dungeon also describes an alternative: when Gohma’s eye is open, shoot it with an arrow in Swordfighter Form.
- Attack the eye and keep moving. While Gohma is down, strike its eye. Watch for its laser and spawned enemies, and move rather than standing in one place.
After the battle, collect the Heart Container and Farore’s Sanction. The Faron Wetlands Rift quest sequence resolves, and the Deku Scrubs return to the smoothie shop at Scrubton. (Zelda Dungeon; Prima Games)
Optional treasure and route choices
The temple’s routes are flexible, so treat the sequence above as a practical path rather than the only valid order. Zelda Dungeon says only two locked doors are required for progression; a third locked door leads to an optional Golden Egg. Other optional rewards mentioned along the route include Warm Peppers and rupees. None is needed to obtain the Big Key or reach Gohma. (Zelda Dungeon; Nintendo Life)
For a direct clear, prioritize the keys and route switches, and skip side chests. For a completion-focused run, check side passages and water sections before leaving each floor. In either case, the easiest way to avoid repeated backtracking is to activate each Waypoint you pass.
