When did the test run?
The test opened May 15, 2025, at 6 a.m. PDT (9 a.m. EDT, 2 p.m. BST, 4 p.m. EEST) and ended May 19 at 1:59 p.m. PDT (4:59 p.m. EDT, 9:59 p.m. BST, 11:59 p.m. EEST). Remedy described it as open to invited players. The dates and times were listed in the test FAQ.

Which platforms and features were included?
Invited players could take part on PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay was supported between platforms, although maintenance could temporarily disable it. Epic Games Store was not listed as a test platform.
Remedy said the build was primarily intended to test crossplay matchmaking and online features with a large global group before launch. The game later released on June 17, 2025; its official FAQ lists PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S as the released game’s platforms.

What rules and PC requirements applied?
Participation was covered by an NDA. Remedy told participants not to publicly discuss the test or game, stream it, or post videos online, and directed them to private official channels for discussion and reports. These restrictions were stated in the Steam test announcement and test FAQ.

Those specifications applied only to the Closed Technical Test. They are not the final game’s system requirements and should not be used to judge what hardware the released game needs.

Remedy released FBC: Firebreak on June 17, 2025, as a digital-only game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In a March 18, 2026 announcement, Remedy called the Open House update the game’s last major content update and said the game would remain online and playable for years. Open House added five arenas: Cafeteria, Aircon Room, Ranger HQ, Turntable, and Ritual Lobby.
