Before deploying in FBC: Firebreak, remember the most useful rule: your crew’s Crisis Kits need to work together. Learn your kit’s tools, follow the tutorial and objective markers, and keep an eye on status effects and healing options. You can play solo, but there are no AI teammates to cover tasks you cannot handle yourself.
Build a crew around complementary Crisis Kits
FBC: Firebreak is a three-player cooperative PvE shooter set in the Control universe. A Crisis Kit is more than a weapon choice: kits combine weapons with specialized tools, grenades, support items and paranatural augments. Remedy’s overview emphasizes adapting loadouts and team synergy, not one universally best kit.

Before a Job
- Read the descriptions for your kit’s tools and augments so you know what each one contributes.
- Compare your capabilities with your crew’s. Coordinate so the team brings useful complementary options rather than assuming one loadout is best for every situation.
- Experiment as you learn. The right choice depends on what your group can cover and how you want to approach the Job.

Use the current onboarding rather than relying on memories of the launch version. Remedy’s Breakpoint update added a tutorial level, orientation videos and full Crisis Kit access from the start. Objective markers and condition indicators also matter: check them when you are unsure what to do or what is affecting you.

Know what solo play does—and does not—provide
Solo matchmaking is supported, and Jobs scale to the number of players. But there are no AI companions. When you deploy alone, plan to handle the objectives and support responsibilities yourself instead of expecting the game to supply teammates.

Manage status effects and healing
Watch the HUD when you are Burning, Glowing or Shocked. Remedy says these conditions now linger for less time than before and have clearer indicators, but they can still affect your run. Open House also made water restore a small amount of health; showers remain the main healing source.
The same update changed perks so that each one equips once at its highest unlocked level, and set revive time to three seconds. These are practical changes to know when choosing perks or helping a downed teammate.

Set up Friend’s Pass before inviting friends
Cross-play covers PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A full-game owner can invite up to two people through Friend’s Pass. Guests can play across platforms, but the pass does not let them create or start their own lobby. They need to join an owner’s invited lobby.
Progress is platform-specific; there is no cross-progression. If someone in your group is using Friend’s Pass, have them install it and join the owner before you deploy. Remedy explains the access rules in its Open House announcement and Q&A.

Don’t mistake launch-week Lost Asset data for a current statistic
In June 2025, Remedy reported that 90% of players had not picked up a Lost Asset during missions. The figure reflected launch-week telemetry, when Lost Assets were difficult to notice. Remedy’s launch update said it highlighted Lost Assets and Research Samples and rebalanced unlock costs. It does not describe current player behavior.

What to expect from updates and support
Remedy announced Open House as the last major content update and said it would not add new playable content afterward. It also said relay servers would stay online and the game would remain playable, with patches possible if required. That is Remedy’s published support position, not a guarantee of indefinite service.
