When did the Final Fantasy IX anniversary website launch?
MeriStation reported on March 31, 2025, that the anniversary site was already open. Square Enix’s official pages confirm the anniversary date and the hub’s contents, but do not establish the site’s exact launch date. July 7, 2025, was the game’s 25th release anniversary—not a confirmed website launch date.

Final Fantasy IX was originally released in Japan on July 7, 2000. Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Portal Site anniversary page describes the celebration as including “a wide number of new art, projects you can get involved in, goods and more.”
What was on the anniversary hub?
The portal linked together several kinds of commemorative material and releases:

Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl – Timeless Tale –
Square Enix Music’s product page for the Timeless Tale vinyl describes a set combining original tracks with newly recorded versions, including “Melodies of Life.” It features new anniversary artwork by Itahana and liner notes from Nobuo Uematsu. An MP3 download code is included, so a record player is not required to listen to the digital versions.
The Japanese release date was July 9, 2025, and the listed Japanese price was ¥4,950 including tax. Square Enix provides regional store destinations, but current inventory was not verified; check the relevant seller listing before planning a purchase.
Vivi picture book and other goods
The English-language anniversary portal lists a “Vivi Picture Book” alongside a broader range of physical goods. Square Enix’s Japanese anniversary merchandise page provides further product information and cautions that dates may change. The announcement pages document the products, not their present stock or pricing.

Did the anniversary website announce a remake?
No. The official anniversary hub covers celebratory art, projects, video and products; it does not announce a remake. Treat speculation about a remake as separate from Square Enix’s published anniversary information.

Were there anniversary sales or events?
Square Enix’s Japanese members announcement described a sale and temporary pop-up stores as part of the 2025 anniversary activity. Those promotions and events were tied to that period, not presented as current offers.
