When did Final Fantasy VII Rebirth come to PC?
Square Enix announced the PC release in December 2024, setting the launch for January 23, 2025. Its January 24, 2025 launch notice confirmed that the game was available worldwide on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Rebirth is the second installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake project. Square Enix describes it as a standalone adventure that follows the party’s escape from Midgar and journey across the planet. The game was already available on PS5 when the PC version was announced.

Square Enix lists several graphics and display options for the PC version. The available experience depends on your hardware and display; the feature list is not a promise of a particular frame rate on every computer.

- High-end output: Square Enix’s launch notice says 4K resolution and up to 120 FPS are supported on top-spec PCs. Treat these as hardware-dependent capabilities, not typical or guaranteed performance.

Can you play with a controller or keyboard and mouse?
Yes. The PC release supports keyboard and mouse, customizable controls, and DualSense controllers with haptic feedback. DualSense is optional; you can play using the input method that suits your setup. The support details are listed in Square Enix’s PC launch information.

Is the PC version playable on Steam Deck?
Square Enix described the Steam version as Steam Deck Verified in its January 2025 PC launch notice. That is the publisher’s launch-period status report, not a performance guarantee for every handheld, settings combination, or later software configuration. The notice addresses Steam Deck specifically; it does not establish equivalent verification for other handheld PCs.

Check the current system-requirements listing on the storefront where you plan to buy the game, or consult Square Enix’s official requirements image. The announcement included a requirements graphic, but its CPU, GPU, memory, and storage figures are not stated in the announcement text available here, so they should not be inferred or guessed. Requirements and listing details may change; verify them before purchasing.
