If you’re looking for the “hot springs” quest in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the closest match is The Saga of the Seaside Inn in Costa del Sol. It is a Johnny renovation quest about restoring hot water with a republic-era boiler valve—not a separate hot-springs bathing activity. Start it in Chapter 7, gather the materials and craft the valve, then return in Chapter 9 for the desert portion and Tonberry King encounter.
What is the hot springs quest in FF7 Rebirth?
The Saga of the Seaside Inn is the likely quest meant by “hot springs.” Johnny needs help renovating his Costa del Sol resort, including finding a boiler valve so the inn can have hot water. Square Enix describes Costa del Sol as a resort town, while the quest walkthroughs frame this plot around the inn’s water system. The available guides do not identify a separate quest called “Hot Springs.” GameFAQs’ Corel Region Quests guide; PowerPyx’s walkthrough; Square Enix’s Rebirth world page.

When can you start and finish the quest?
Accept the quest at the start of Chapter 7 by speaking with Johnny at the inn or taking it from Costa del Sol’s community noticeboard. Chapter 7 covers the opening renovation objectives, but the walkthroughs say the full quest cannot be finished until Chapter 9 opens the Corel Desert portion. GameFAQs; PowerPyx.

Collecting four bundles is enough to advance the basic objective; the walkthroughs recommend all eight for the best reward. The bundles are found around the Corel ziplines. The guides do not fully specify the reward difference tied to bundle count, so treat eight as the target for the best outcome rather than assuming a particular additional item. How do you unlock and beat the Tonberry King?
In Chapter 9, complete all six Corel Lifesprings to reveal the Classified Intel encounter with the Tonberry King. Guides recommend equipping Steal materia if you want the pristine crown. Pressure the king until it drops its crown, then steal it before it retrieves it. PowerPyx; GameFAQs.
Does the crown have to be pristine?
No. GameFAQs’ walkthrough says Johnny accepts either the pristine or marred crown. The pristine version requires the extra timing and Steal step; the guide does not establish a separate affinity, trophy, or quest-completion reward for choosing it. GameFAQs.
