Director Naoki Hamaguchi has said development is on schedule, and a later interview describes the team as working through final polishing. That points toward the announced window; it does not confirm an earlier release or an exact launch day. The “sooner than you’d think” angle is best understood as a comparison with the longer wait between the first two games, not a new date announcement.
When will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 come out?
Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the remake trilogy, is scheduled for Spring 2027. The cited announcement gives no specific day. AUTOMATON WEST reports the title and release window, along with a description of the game in its final-polishing phase.
In April 2026, Hamaguchi said development was “proceeding on time and on schedule,” adding that the team expected to deliver the trilogy’s culmination with confidence. His statement is a progress update, not a guarantee that the window cannot change. Nintendo Life’s report on his interview with Comicbook carries the remarks.
Why the wait may be shorter than the previous gap
Hamaguchi agreed that the finale would arrive more quickly after Rebirth than Rebirth followed Remake. The interview also describes the team’s intensive effort and its priority of finishing the game for fans as quickly as possible. That supports a relative comparison between the installments, but it does not mean the Spring 2027 window has been moved forward.

One factor Hamaguchi discussed is continuity in the team’s tools and production setup. The developers are continuing with Unreal Engine 4 and the pipeline established during Rebirth, which he described as the more efficient path for this project. This is his rationale for the team’s approach, not evidence that the engine alone determines the schedule. The interview report covers the engine decision.
Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 on schedule?
The latest cited progress descriptions are encouraging but should be read as status reports, not a release guarantee. Hamaguchi said in April 2026 that development was on time. A later interview describes daily playthroughs, adjustments to rough edges, asset additions, and bug fixing as part of final polishing. Those activities indicate the stage he described at interview time; they do not establish a fixed launch day, platform parity, or a guarantee against a delay. What platforms will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 be on?
The reported platform list is PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC), Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The available announcement does not provide separate release dates or platform-specific performance details, so the Spring 2027 window should not be read as proof of simultaneous availability or identical features on every platform. Rebirth is the directly relevant second game to play before Revelation. The trilogy’s entries are designed to feel complete on their own: Hamaguchi called that a non-negotiable premise. He explained that Rebirth leaves Rocket Town and Wutai out because adding them to its other content would have made the game too dense and disrupted its pacing. GamesRadar+’s October 3, 2026 report quotes his interview with Edge.

The trilogy also draws on a broader range of Final Fantasy VII material than a scene-by-scene retelling of the original. Hamaguchi has discussed using spin-off stories and lore; for example, he said INTERmission brings Yuffie closer to the main party’s story, connects Remake and Rebirth, and incorporates Deepground lore. The official Nintendo interview provides that background.
