Does Patch 7.3 conclude Dawntrail’s story?
Yes. Square Enix described Patch 7.3 as the conclusion of the Dawntrail story arc. The official presentation digest put it this way: “Patch 7.3 is the finale of the story arc that began with Dawntrail.” The new main scenario quests return to unrest in Alexandria, where modified memories, neo regulators and fear of death shape the conflict. Do you need Dawntrail to play Patch 7.3 content?
Not every patch addition has the same access requirement. Some additions and adjustments require registered expansions; the Lodestone notes identify content that requires Dawntrail. Check the requirement listed for a particular activity in the official patch notes rather than assuming every feature is available to every account. Patch 7.3 is an update, not a separate boxed purchase.
