Revenant Saga is a KEMCO gothic fantasy RPG built around Albert’s quest for revenge after a deceptive experiment transforms him into a revenant. Fire Emblem fans may find a familiar broad appeal in turn-based RPG combat, but this is not established as a grid-based tactical RPG: its official description highlights 3D-animated battles, in-battle transformations, subquests, and weapon forging instead.

Revenant Saga is a role-playing game published by KEMCO. Its story follows Albert, whose life is upended when a scientist’s experiment turns him into a revenant and causes deaths close to him. He sets out seeking revenge, with the publisher pitching the journey as a search for “the truth that lies beyond revenge.” Nintendo describes the game as a gothic fantasy RPG.

That premise gives the game a darker, personal focus than a story centered on a military campaign. It is a useful starting point for Fire Emblem fans weighing the recommendation: the overlap is the broad appeal of RPG stories and turn-based battles, not a documented match in tactical systems.
How does combat compare with Fire Emblem?
Nintendo’s listing describes Revenant Saga as having turn-based battles with 3D animation. The official material reviewed does not describe grid-based movement, tactical maps, unit permadeath, class systems, or relationship mechanics. Those familiar Fire Emblem features should not be assumed here.

How long is the game?
KEMCO’s Wii U announcement describes the story as woven around “over 30+ hours of gameplay.” That is the publisher’s scope statement for that release, not an independently measured completion-time estimate.
