Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Expansion Pass is a digital add-on for the full Nintendo Switch 2 game. It is sold as one package containing three DLC waves: Wave 1’s prototype weapons are available now, Wave 2 adds three powerful gods and outfits during holiday/winter 2026, and Wave 3 brings character stories, allies, and classes in 2027. Nintendo does not sell the waves separately.

What the Fortune’s Weave Expansion Pass includes

The pass expands Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave over three releases rather than delivering one single episode. The content ranges from equipment for the four heroes to new divine combatants, cosmetic outfits, character-focused stories, recruitable allies, and additional classes.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • Platform: Nintendo Switch 2 only.
  • Prerequisite: You must own the complete Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave game; the pass is not a standalone game.
  • Format: Digital DLC sold as one expansion pass.
  • Access: Purchasing the pass grants all three waves as Nintendo releases them.
  • Separate purchases: Individual waves are not sold separately.

That last point is important if you are deciding whether to buy immediately. You can delay buying the pass, but you cannot choose only the weapon wave, only the gods and outfits, or only the story wave as separate products.

Wave-by-wave release schedule

Wave Content Current timing
Wave 1 Prototype weapons for the four heroes, modeled after the Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses Available now; Nintendo’s store page lists October 14, 2026
Wave 2 Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah join battles, plus new wearable outfits Holiday/winter 2026; no exact day announced
Wave 3 New stories for Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia, with new recruitable allies and classes 2027; no exact day announced

The windows for the second and third waves are all Nintendo has publicly committed to in the cited product, support, store, and regional announcement pages. Treat any more precise date circulating elsewhere as unconfirmed until Nintendo publishes it.

#1 Best Overall
Fire Emblem™: Fortune's Weave - Nintendo Switch 2
  • Enter the Dagdan Empire—a prosperous land ruled by the gods—and compete in the Heroic Games for the chance to be granted one wish
  • Play as four heroes competing in the Heroic Games whose fortunes are tied to the fate of the world
  • Prepare for each match of the Heroic Games by exploring Dagda and its capital city of Dagsion
  • Learn skills at the training grounds, recruit allies and build bonds of friendship, and explore beyond Dagsion’s walls to gain experience
  • Use everything you have at your disposal, including your heroes’ special abilities, to turn the tide of battle

Wave 1: prototype weapons for the four heroes

The first wave is equipment-focused. Each of the game’s four heroes receives a prototype weapon modeled after a Heroes’ Relic from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The description establishes the weapons’ inspiration and intended users, but it does not publish a complete stat table, weapon ranks, upgrade path, or skill list. Those details should not be assumed from the Three Houses relics.

Nintendo lists this wave as available now. The Nintendo store page gives October 14, 2026 as its release date, while a regional Nintendo announcement says the expansion pass launches on October 15. The one-day difference is a regional or storefront timing distinction, not evidence of two different Wave 1 versions. Players should use the date shown by their own Nintendo eShop region.

If you already own the base game and want something usable immediately, this is the only wave with released content at present. Buying the pass now gives access to these weapons and preserves access to the two later waves when they arrive.

Fire Emblem™ Engage - Nintendo Switch
  • Reawaken as a Divine Dragon and take down a thousand-year-old threat
  • Take on turn-based, tactical combat and use Emblem Rings to customize your strategy
  • Collect Emblem Rings and use them to summon heroes from past Fire EmblemTM games
  • Fire EmblemTM Engage launches on January 20, 2023 alongside Fire Emblem Engage: Divine Edition featuring a steelbook case and art book

Wave 2: three gods and new outfits

Wave 2 changes the roster as well as presentation. Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah are scheduled to join battles as powerful gods, and the wave adds new wearable outfits. The available descriptions do not specify whether the gods are permanent recruits, temporary battle participants, or tied to a particular mode, so do not infer a recruitment system or stat structure that Nintendo has not announced.

The release window is described as holiday 2026 on Nintendo’s support and store pages and as winter 2026 in the U.S. news article. No exact date is published. “Holiday” and “winter” should therefore be read as the same broad seasonal window rather than as separate launches.

Why one Nintendo article also names Mars

Nintendo’s U.S. news copy includes “Mars” alongside Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah when discussing Wave 2. Nintendo Support, the U.S. store listing, and Nintendo Malaysia consistently name only Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah. Because the three-name list appears across those other official listings, this article treats Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah as the confirmed Wave 2 names and does not present Mars as confirmed additional content.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes - Switch
  • Command Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters like Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude in epic real-time battles
  • Play through three distinct storylines set in the Fire Emblem: Three Houses universe, each with a different ending, from the point of view of a new protagonist, Shez.
  • Combine the action-packed Warriors-style gameplay with the strategy and style of the Fire Emblem series
  • Fight through hordes of enemies with Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters and their distinct abilities
  • Use Fire Emblem series mechanics like the weapons triangle, character classes, crests, and battalions to tailor your strategy

Wave 3: character stories, allies, and classes

The third wave is the story-heavy release. It adds new stories featuring Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia. It also introduces new recruitable allies and classes, giving the wave implications for both narrative content and party-building.

Nintendo currently places Wave 3 in 2027 without naming a month, quarter, or day. That means the announced year is the reliable planning point; a specific launch date, episode order, class list, and ally roster remain unannounced. The wave’s description confirms the categories of content, but not how many chapters, allies, or classes will be included.

How purchasing the pass works

  1. Own the base game. The pass requires the full Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave game on Nintendo Switch 2. It cannot substitute for the base game.
  2. Buy the digital expansion pass. Nintendo sells the three-wave package as one purchase rather than as individually selectable DLC.
  3. Download released content. Wave 1 is the currently available portion. Later waves become available when Nintendo releases them; purchasing the pass does not unlock unreleased content early.
  4. Install each wave when it arrives. The pass grants access to all three waves as they release, so a later wave does not require a second DLC purchase.

Your Nintendo account and console region can affect the displayed release date and price. Check the eShop page for the account region that will receive the DLC before purchasing, especially if your base game and account use different regions.

Can you buy the waves separately?

No. Nintendo’s product information states that the purchase provides all three waves, and the waves are not offered as separate products. The practical choice is between buying the pass now or waiting to decide later—not selecting a specific wave à la carte.

If you… What you get Main trade-off
Buy the pass now Wave 1 access immediately, plus entitlement to Waves 2 and 3 when released You pay before the later waves have exact dates or fully detailed feature lists
Wait until a later wave is closer You can make a decision with more information about the schedule and content You still must buy the complete three-wave pass; there is no cheaper single-wave option documented by Nintendo
Want only one wave No individual-wave purchase option You would need to skip the pass entirely

Price and bundle options

Nintendo’s U.S. announcement lists the following prices as of October 15, 2026:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Purchase U.S. list price What it covers
Expansion Pass $34.99 All three DLC waves for owners of the base game
Game-plus-pass bundle $104.99 The full Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave game and the three-wave pass

These are U.S. list prices, not a universal global price. Nintendo eShop pricing can differ by country, currency, taxes, and regional policy. The announcement does not establish a recurring subscription, a limited-time discount, or a separate price for any individual wave.

What is known—and still unknown—about the schedule

Wave 1 has a concrete storefront date

The first wave is the only release with both current availability and a dated store listing. The October 14 date on the store page and the October 15 date in a regional announcement should be interpreted through the relevant storefront rather than combined into a claim that the content launched twice.

Wave 2 has a season, not a day

“Holiday 2026” and “winter 2026” identify a broad period. Nintendo has not announced a day, and the available information does not say whether the release will be simultaneous worldwide. Avoid treating a retailer date, countdown, or social-media rumor as official.

Wave 3 has a year, not a season

The 2027 target is even less precise. Nintendo has not supplied a month or quarter, so planning around a particular school break, fiscal quarter, or anniversary would be speculation. The confirmed commitment is the year and the announced story, ally, and class categories.

How the three waves differ in practical terms

Reader priority Most relevant wave Reason
Immediate combat equipment Wave 1 Prototype weapons are already available for the four heroes
New high-power battle participants and cosmetics Wave 2 Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah join battles, and outfits expand customization
More narrative and party-building options Wave 3 Four named character stories, recruitable allies, and new classes

This split can help you decide when to purchase without implying that one wave replaces another. The pass is designed as a cumulative package: equipment first, then divine combat content and outfits, then additional stories and class-based roster options.

Buyer checklist

  • Confirm that you own the full game, not just access to a demo or trial version.
  • Confirm that you are playing on Nintendo Switch 2, the platform listed for the pass.
  • Check your Nintendo account’s country or region before comparing the displayed price and release date.
  • Buy now only if Wave 1’s weapons justify paying before exact dates for the later waves are known.
  • Remember that waiting does not create a single-wave purchase option; the same three-wave pass remains the documented format.
  • Keep expectations aligned with the announcements: Wave 2 has a holiday/winter 2026 window, and Wave 3 is planned for 2027, but neither has an exact day.

Bottom line

The Fortune’s Weave Expansion Pass is a single digital purchase for Nintendo Switch 2 owners of the base game. It already delivers the four heroes’ prototype weapons, will add Aurora, Smyrnos, Jurah, and outfits in the holiday/winter 2026 window, and is planned to finish with four character stories, new allies, and classes in 2027. Since Nintendo does not offer the waves separately, the decision is whether the currently available Wave 1 and the promise of the later content justify buying the complete pass now.
